Did Minecraft Just Secretly Reveal MORE NEW UPDATES?

Minecraft 1.21 is getting closer (probably) but it almost seems like mojang has more in store for us. Today we take a quick look at three recent things that've been rent free in my head. Are ducks the next new minecraft mob? Is the glow squid going to glow soon? what about that desert update?

@@Madhav2oo9 thank you! I just thought that it would make certain build easiers or look better then just random torches. Also, i feel like glow beds would be interesting if each colour had a unique patteren. Black having stars, yellow having the sun, white having snow flakes, etc.

Possibly if they are planning to add more birds, like the ducks, maybe they plan to give off different feathers that can be used at a fletching table to craft interesting arrows with abilities (like they shoot faster or farther idk)

2:02 not really though, the way it works is by placing light blocks at the player's location to simulate there being light. It's buggy and leads to a ton of problems with fences connecting to invisible light blocks and paths disappearing when you walk on them, so they would never implement that to the base game

Those ones are buggy. There are other ones like raiyon's dynamic lighting addon. It doesn't affect fences or grass. It's pretty much Vanilla. The only downside is that the dynamic lighting doesn't work under water and it rarely flickers but it's still something that mojang can change.

The are the devs of the game not addon creators, they won't use only "light blocks" to implement dynamic light, they can cook some new codes not cheap easy methods

Wattles Minecraft bedrock always had dynamic lighting add-ons. Since it was called “pocket edition” we could still get mods/add-ons from websites like MCPEDL

That mallard in the thumbnail is a HUGE yes! More animals! More things that have mechanics we already know! Not every animal has to be "omgyessounique"! Reskinned chickens as ducks, geese or mallards, maybe even a simple turkey model, all dropping "poultry meat" instead of "chicken meat" along the eggs and feathers. Functionally identical, but visually different. More fish species! More crop types! Just for the sake of variety. I was making a farm the other day and so soon i realized there wasnt much else i could explore to find, and the few there were (like the sniffer) are wildly different from what you would see as farm animals. What about more dog breeds? We already have several cats, im sure its the same or very similar. While we're there, how about raccoons, badgers, otters, porcupines, rhinos, hippoes, ferrets, armadillos, boars, bears, opossums, skunks, coyotes, lynx? Reskinning cows as several different bovine species we see across the world, that look different but behave the same? That's already true for rabbits, their color is dependent on where they spawn AND there are a few different colors for each biome. Minecraft is probably the only survival game where you cant find DEER for crying out loud. And im not even talking about completely new stuff mechanically, like crocodiles/aligators, snakes, sharks, apes, giraffes, squirrels or beavers, that would be harder to code. All the examples i gave are just adapted from existing ones, or even copied reskins. Want to do really different stuff? Ok, then birds! Why are ma damn skies so empty?? Eagles, hawks, seagulls, pidgeons, owls, they are everywhere. A few modifications to the bat's AI, and its done. "Oh but mojang doesnt want endangered species and everything has to have a purpose" ok then, whats the panda, or bat's purpose? Whats the purpose of the polar bear or ocelote? All these animals are in the game, and you dont see them 99% of the time, and when you do you're just like "eh, nice" and move on. Animals would make the world feel so less empty, are so easy to add and people love new animals. Sorry about the HUGE comment, i got carried away because im ALL for "new" things that dont mechanically mean having to watch a whole days worth of YT videos on updates, u know? That and variety's always nice.

Hikers friend isn't dynamic lighting. The lantern just replaces air blocks with light blocks around you and breaks them as you move away. If you use it over path blocks or tilled soil you'll see it convert back to dirt just by turning the light on

When i first played minecraft ever i thought for a few years that chickens were ducks, and i was actually extremely shocked when i found out they weren’t. Also my favourite potential update is also ducks :)

0:21 cohincidentely today while lurking underground i heard a strange tingle, and being not sure what it could be, activated the subtitles and then discovered was the Glowing Squid on the other side of the rock, probably in a submerged cavern that did not communicate with my tunnells/wells the scheme shows itself..... i wonder...

The issue with the hiker's friends add-on is that when you hold that item, the game places a light block where you are standing and deletes the when you move again.

We NEED sharks. And to those saying they won't because hostiles and such, they don't need to make hostile sharks. You do know there are sharks that eat smaller things and pose no threat to humans, right? Not just small sharks like Bullheads or the Nurse Shark; there's the Whale Shark too. And let's not forget the Leopard Shark. Often confused to be territorial like the Tiger Shark, but is actually rather docile. All of which can be found relatively close to the shallows too.

I just see it being added for glow squids tbh (if they get it to work smoothly on bedrock(mojang java and bedrock fusion when)), as getting in on things like torches or lanterns is something they've said plenty of times that is a plenty no. Glow squids on the other hand, are semi-rare, you can't carry them (at least not by easy or practical means) and really don't play even a slight amount of significance in the gameplay aside from glow ink sacs. So I can definetively see them inplementing dinamic lighting to them, just because why not.

I'm all for new animals in the game but what would be the point of the duck? It would drop what? Duck feathers? What's would be the point just another option for feathers?
