I heard this from someone else. If you use Mirio’s beta it makes you swim around automatically but if you aim at the ground and use beta it keeps you stationary in that one spot so you can instantly pop up and hit whoever is around you collectively. I watched it and thought it was a cool find.

That's why you stun them with melee, then use the shield because it knocks them back and does hella damage. And if you miss your beta or alpha, you just use your special action and become invincible. Or, if you miss your alpha you can immediately use your beta since you become invincible while activating it, making an easy escape. I'm a Mirio main, and I hope this helps.
