Thanks for putting that out there. Perhaps that sentiment could more accurately stated as "money can buy you less unhappiness." The question then is is happiness the opposite of unhappiness? And thx for the reminder to check my ebills! I was resistant to go that way, but after dealing with the post office on a potential forwarding issue, it was time.

I don't do automatic payments, but everything either goes to my bank app or my inbox. I also keep track of each bill to make sure I made a payment each month.

shenanigans!!! money can absolutely buy happiness!!! it might not fix all your problems, but i dare you to imagine being able to buy a Ferrari convertible in LA then take a cruise down the PCH to Baja just to get some unreal tacos cuz "tacos sound great right now". i DEFY you to not be smiling the ENTIRE time, and im sure whoever is riding shotgun would also be all smiles. hell, truncate that down to just got enjoy a taco and tell me you didn't smile, even if just for a short while. happiness is fleeting, but if you're super wealthy, you can afford to chase it all the time and not worry about basic survival "how am i gonna pay the rent" stuff.

There's a point of diminished return. Of course, you need enough money to eat. But some of us honestly don't want to ride in a Ferrari through LA or go get Baja tacos. That sounds like a whole lot of traffic-sitting and crowds to me. Also, homemade tacos are usually better and healthier. Blessed are those with a low standard of expectation. I'm happy to tinker in my garage, so I see it as a curse to have expensive tastes. I'd rather sew a patch onto my jeans than go shop for a new pair--even if they were free!
