Prophet Muhammad SAW never conquered Jerusalem but respected it and told his followers to do so too as it is said so in the Quran. And since we believe in all of the prophets mentioned in the bible and torah, it hold similar significance for us too, as well as, not many know this but in the early stages , before the hijrah of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, Jerusalem is where we used to pray towards, which was changed to Makkah by order of Allah SWT

I think the point he was trying to make which he did a bad job of and I’ve heard it made before by atheists is that Mohammad actually did conquer Jerusalem and made it inside of Jerusalem but because Moses died outside of the promised land then Islamic tradition placed Muhammad’s death before the conquest of Jerusalem to create a parallel with Moses.

There is no mistake in The Quran but there is many mistakes in the Bible that the Quran mentions correctly such as the position in society of Prophet Yusuf (Joseph). The Quran mentions he was a king and the Bible mentions he was a pharaoh. The Quran is correct and more recently the Rosetta Stone was decoded and what was found is that Yusuf was a king and not a pharaoh. Islam is The true religion with undeniable proof and evidence. We Muslims believe in Jesus but not as God and we don’t believe God has a son. Jesus peace be upon him is a prophet and Messenger Of Allah (God) and he is the messiah. He wasn’t killed as Allah saved him before they could get to him. There is also scientific and historical miracles mentioned in the Quran such as the formation of the human embryo as well as the creation of honey in bees. There are Islamic prophecies that came true and will come true and I recommend everyone to try and learn about them. I myself know of people who were ill and suffering with issues (including black magic) and got cured miraculously when the Quran was recited over them. I invite everyone to learn about Islam.

Umar. The Arabs conquered Damascus before Jerusalem which is almost 300km north of where you are. They even debated to take Jerusalem or not, Umar was persuaded taking Jerusalem would deal an ideological blow to the Byzantine. The Arabs were content to conquer the surrounding area before any kind of siege on Jerusalem. That's what your looking at Derrick when you look at the dome of the rock, it's to honour the rock of the patriarchs, and strike a ideological blow at Christians and Jews.

Actually, he was there when they did conquer it. Also it wasn’t conquered by force, it was surrendered by Sophronius to Umar. Sophronius by the way was the Patriarch of Jerusalem & is venerated by both Eastern Orthodox & Catholic Church as a Saint. Sophronius & Umar ended up praying together. No church was destroyed as per the Prophets (peace be upon him) teachings.

Bcz no such story. I believe the external source made error. When Muhammad pbuh passed away, His companions was crying like baby. It shows us how much they loved Him. His leadership in conquering Jerusalem definetely would be a very important event for them. No way suct event would be missed out and unrecorded.
