TRUE STORY...... I had 4 miscarriages and after I had the 4th miscarriage I remember one day as I sat at my desk and I thanked God I at least had been blessed with 2 sons and accepted I wasnt going to have more. Then I heard clear audibly voice in my head say ..."your going to have more kids when you get older" It was so clear that I responded with a chuckle..." yeah I wouldnt doubt it I will have more kids once Im older" About 3 years after, I got pregnant 3 times and had 2 daughters back to back and a twin boys ( 4 more kid). I knew of God but I didnt know God! Last year when Jesus saved me and I was reading the bible I came to Genesis 18:12 and I almost fell off my chair, Sarah had similar response😵😵 And heres another kicker one of my twins is named Issac🤣😮 I cant make up this story! God is incredible☝️☝️

For anyone who headed to the comment section before the video was over, Pastor John ultimately says Maybe. There is a chance God punished him through his wife's miscarriage. But he also says that neither himself nor the man who asked the question will ever know for sure (unless through direct revelation by God) and that none of should concern ourselves with correlations between our sins and suffering in our lives anyways. When we suffer our focus should be worshipping and depending on God. I know that what Pastor John is saying here is shocking but he was giving his honest interpretation of scripture.

This is an awful, fear mongering answer. David, as much as he loved the Lord, did not live in a post-Christ dispensation. David also had a man murdered just to be with his wife, and the child who resulted from that union perished. To even leave it possible that a blood washed son of God would endure a painful miscarriage because he looked at porn??? To equate those situations at all? This is shameful, horrid behavior of somebody claiming to speak on God’s behalf. Miscarriage is common. It had 0 ties to whether somebody jerks off or not.

Matthew 18:4 (I think) it’s definitely in Matthew 18. It says it is not Gods will for any of these children shall perish. I am going thru a miscarriage as we speak and I have my own demons. I feel so guilty. I do know I cant bring my child back but all I can do and same for anyone else is repent and seek help to overcome our addictions and lusts for all things worldly. The only thing that I believe whole heartedly is that our children that are lost before they are born are in heaven and didn’t even have a chance to sin. What a blessing to have never sinned. I’m sorry for your loss and I’ll keep your family in my prayers.

Me before watching this:- I have a strong feeling I know where this is going. Me After Watching This:- At least he said, "I don't know". This whole video would be void without that statement. On account of Job's friends, It is not in your place, it is not in anyone's place to equate specific bad things that happen to God's wrath. That has the potential to cause serious harm.
@charlesbucher51368 жыл бұрын
How in the world can you not say anything other than, "Of course not!!" What kind of God kills children to get adult men to feel extra bad about porn? (Which by the way, isn't effective! Countless studies show that addictions do not break with additional shame). This response disgusts me.

If I had a dollar for everyone who misquoted the Book of Job... let alone fail to see the impact Jesus has on the Covenant! John Piper is a wonderful man of God, but like many of us has some theology that seriously needs re-thinking! YIKES!

Did he basically just say Christ's payment for sins wasnt enough? Cause my understanding is that his lustful sin would have been covered by the blood and no additional payment would be needed.
@yeahyeahyeah29355 жыл бұрын
kreamowheat obviously it does! But you cannot use it as a bandaid! You either repent and turn to Jesus or you don’t. And if you don’t you cannot bear good fruit. For it was written a bad tree will not bear good fruit and likewise a good tree cannot bear bad fruit. If you are watching porn, are you really following and putting your trust is Jesus. Has he really cleaned of your sins? Of course he can! But have you begged for it?! Have you prayed and repented it for it? Has your heart and soul really realized God are NOT is not of this world?

The horrifying paganism we still believe in is awful. Either you are under grace or not. Blaming God for anything going wrong in life is an utter failure to see God as who he is
@justinchamberlain34434 жыл бұрын
Revelation 2:23 clearly dictates what happened to David's son being killed is still in effect today under the New Covenant because the resurrected God of heaven and earth, Jesus Christ, said it was when He was speaking to born-again, blood bought, baptized believers in Himself that were apart the first century church.

Can someone who understands PLEASE help me understand? I believe in a sovereign, yet just God. Even though I don't understand killing Jobs wife to prove a point to the likes of Satan, I remind myself not to "lean not on my own understanding. " But this, killing a baby and mentally punishing a mother because the man is struggling with porn? That seems like all sovereign and no justice. Please someone explain this to me. I'm trying so hard to understand

Wow i am pretty shocked by Johns answer. Practically, his advice is perfect and good. But honestly, saying that God does/can punish us for our sins sounds like it contradicts he gospel to me. Did Jesus die for me and pay the ultimate price for my sin? If God still has to punish sin, it implies Jesus sacrifice wasn’t enough to cover it (so long as we accept the free gift of salvation). Bad stuff happens, for sure. That sin of pornography needs to stop, for sure. But did God punish you for your sin? No! He sent Jesus to pay the price for our sin - all we need to do is repent and turn to him
@yeahyeahyeah29355 жыл бұрын
Lymer if you are watching porn, have you REALLY repented? That statement: porn is bad but I repented and Jesus will clean me of my sin; is contradictory.
@jessicaborgogni95954 жыл бұрын
Being forgiven for sin doesnt change that you get consequences. If you didnt have consequences, you may not even repent. Most sins create consequences, whether we recognize them or not.
@beelzzebub4 жыл бұрын
Jessica Borgogni i agree sin has consequences, hence God saying it’s bad. But to say God is punishing is to undermine Jesus’ sacrifice
@jessicaborgogni95954 жыл бұрын
@@beelzzebub i dont see it that way. You could still have just the consequences and also no forgiveness, you know (which is what Jesus’s sacrifice was for). But there is both forgiveness and consequences so we could appreciate the meaning of repentance. There would be no Love from God if sin only begat consequences (it would be a naturalistic world) and that is in fact what happens when there is no repentance. But Love from God paths our way to act pure in the future, so we wouldn’t be motivated by an ungodly fear of consequences . There is positive value and meaning this way , not just a punishment, is what I mean.

Isn't it unfair that God punishes other people more severely than other people even though their sins are exactly the same? Why spank one child 10 times and the other 2 times when they both stole one sweet? There is too much injustice here and this put the spotlight on the love of God because not everyone gets to experience it.
@LincolnFalana8 жыл бұрын
timmzzyy if the one spanked 10 timed was fore-warned a thousand times and the other a 100 times, is the discipline served still injustice? Because that is exactly how it is with God over the believer & unbeliever.
@Stilgar747 жыл бұрын
When was the last time you were spanked and didn't know why you were being spanked? Regardless of where you stand on the issue of physical correction/spanking etc... what kind of parent would you be if you didn't make it clear what specifically the punishment is for? This is unfortunately why this kind of theology is absurd and nothing more than the influence of Greco/Roman mythology on the nature of God.

Due respect, there's no evidence for this biblically and he proves nothing except that it's his opinion which he's welcome to... and even if it were true of God it would be an incorrect response by his people.. Have we learned nothing from even our OT examples? That even Avraham could have continued to negotiate with God for the preservation of Sodom based on the number of righteous found there?
