Did My WGU Bachelors Get Me A Job? (Business Administration)

There is a lot of uncertainty with obtaining a general degree, especially when it comes to getting your foot in the door for a new job. From my experience western governors university is a great school and offers a lot of great degrees. However with a BBA be careful if you do not have a plan, because going to school for 4 years may not be worth the student loans if you cannot secure a job with the degree.

Your youth is a problem, too (that will fix itself in time ; ) I am also a vet with a degree - I had a lot of trouble finding something fresh out of the military, because people would look at my age and automatically reject my application. Once you get your foot in any door where upward mobility is an option, your degree is likely to help with promotions - not to mention helping you know the things needed to be better at the job.

Create a handshake profile with the University. Recruiters will reach out and I got a Bachelor Degree in Business Management and an MBA from WGU. At this point you just need to do some networking.

The problem here is you had no real plan from the jump. Why go get a degree with no real plan? All that education can’t teach you to think for yourself in an entrepreneurial mindset. Nobody’s going to hand you anything. There’s no real skill obtained. You could’ve easily just started your own business and learned from real experience under a mentor. Business degrees aren’t useless for those who have a real plan. Maybe go and find a gym you’d like to manage and go in there and apply for a management role. It takes a certain mindset. Change your mindset & sell that!!

Hello there! Hey man I’m a vet as well, finishing up my degree at WGU. Would the military take a WGU degree tho? Have you done any research into it? I tried to look it up, and talked to base training but I haven’t heard back.

@@pabo9544 From my understanding WGU is fully accredited, and I used tuition assistance to pay for it! So I believe it would be accepted especially if they pay for it. WGU is also one of the most popular military friendly schools as well.
