This is such a great video, Mike. It's just surprising how many mouth breathers you stumble down the street and people that are really trying very hard to keep their lips together (I am fortunate to have a perfect bite and my lips come together naturally) that you stop looking at people the same way, you just notice there's something wrong on their Jaw. This video is so revealing and should people make aware the dangers of mouth breathing. Please do more videos like this which are really easy to watch and should make your channel more popular.

I first saw the Orthotropics site about 18 years ago in 2005. I had extremely flat cheekbones. A doctor told me that he would recommend silicone implants which I refused because they can slip or get infected. Every implant is a foreign body. I then went to google and typed in flat cheekbones and ended up on the Orthotropics site. The whole thing was an epiphany for me because now I knew that traintracks and headgear had damaged my facial growth for 4 years. I wrote an email to Prof. Mew in the year 2005 at the age of 29 I was seeking treatment but he told me that I was really too old and I felt that he only treated children. He just said wish you all the best and that was it! On his site there was an animation where someone with an upright posture and symmetrical face and horizontal growth got into a vertical growth and the face changed negatively. The whole page was structured in such a way that one thought only mouth breathing would be responsible for it. The most important thing, the tongue position, was mentioned with only one word, but there was no explanation of how a correct tongue position works. Also there was no tongue or changed tongue position to see in the animation. The most important part was left out. There was no explanation of how correct tongue position works. There was a book called cause and cure of malloclusion. I could not get any information how many chapters the book has and what the chapters are called. There was no reading sample at the time and what layman knows what a malloclusion is? wtf. Only an orthodontist knows something like that. It would have been much better if he had called the book the cause and cure of croocked teeth with more information like on Amazon. If he had called the book this way and if he had also drawn the tongue position in the animation, Orthotropics would have become known much earlier in my opinion. Possibly 8 years earlier. All this was 50%. It was only with Mike Mew that many deficits were eliminated and people who were not children began to be informed. It was only then that orthotropics became known and talked about. Many thanks to Prof. Mew but also many many many thanks to Dr. Mike Mew 😊

I have had a beautiful face in my childhood and teen's untill 5-6 years ago when i realized that my tounge was falling down. What happend during this time was i got a wrong bite, my face changed in form, got herniated disc, bruxism and my jews hurted. It tooks 1.5 year to learn to put the tounge on it's place. It wasn't easy must i say. Now i'm feeling good, my lips are sealing and no mot jaw pain. But i still have bruxism. Many thanks to dr. Mike. His videos helped me alot.

Thank you for this info. I cannot look at anyone now without seeing if their jaw/face has developed properly or not. It's a shame how many adults walk around with mouths agape, recessed chins, unattractive faces and basically looking exhausted and unhealthy. What's even more shameful is how few people are aware of any of this.
@ThePhotoshopExpress
@ThePhotoshopExpress Жыл бұрын
you don't know what stories are behind those people with 'unattractive' faces. sometimes they just can't help but develop such a face, i'm the example. i had adenoids which prevented me from breathing correctly, my parents were advised not to remove them since i was a child back then and such an operation was considered to be 'extra', the doctors thought the adenoids would just disappear on their own. i'm now dealing with the consequences and i already feel shameful for the way i am but i was literally a child.
@RS54321
@RS54321 Жыл бұрын
@@ThePhotoshopExpress Sure, we don't know the stories, but we don't have to. All of us should have protracted jaws and all 32 teeth, like people used to. It's in our genetics. The thing is something went wrong during the child's development. We _can_ help how our faces develop, it's just that there is gross ignorance about proper tongue posture and lip seal. Ultimately unattractive faces are a result of people mouth breathing, not keeping their tongue at the roof of their mouth, and not eating proper foods. The things that cause that (enlarged adenoids, which is an immune response; allergies (another immune response), etc.) all speak to a root issue that needs to be addressed. I get that you were a kid and you shouldn't feel shame over something that wasn't your fault. I grew up in a smoker's household, and I had no control over that. It was awful. I had chronic tonsillitis (most likely b/c of the smoke) and was sick a lot = tons of mouth breathing, which lead to crowded teeth due to a narrow palate due to not having my tongue at the roof of my mouth consistently. Once you simplify it, it's very obvious. Then I had extraction/retraction braces, and my face got ruined. I didn't meet my genetic potential. So, we shouldn't blame kids for something they had no knowledge about or control over, but we need to educate EVERYONE about this so it quits happening or people can get early treatment. The fact that Dr. Mew has been demonized by the orthodontic society should tell you a lot. His methods work but there's not a lot of money to be made in healthy, happy people.

Hi to all... As a person with sleep apnea & having had watched the kings coronation I'm most certain of the fact the king sufferes from sleep apnea as well... I've noticed many times his body & facial language in this regard. Last night as he sat on the coronation chair he appears to become increasingly "visually distant" as the ceremony continued. At at least one point he appears to suddenly flinch as a reaction to " going into sleep " His eyes remains open for most part but did partially blink. This made me think how hard it is for myself & others with sleep apnea to remain fully alert during such times. The royal family "could" well be aware of this as most of their members have ways to deal with similar situations. I found this video by Googling "does King Charles have sleep apnea ?" I have the greatest empathy for people that suffer from this disorder & feel even more supportive of those that are unable to get relief or adequate treatment to make their lives more enjoyable or to even simply function in some cases. Maybe someone else noticed my observations too & is willing to add to this opinion.

Yes, he has aged well, and I had noticed that his face looked long and I didn't always find him attractive when he was a young man. I would definitely say that Princess Anne did not age well. Her bone structure fell, or something. That long face or "horse" face is not appealing. Her youthful pictures are a lot better. That is in no way a slur on her character as she does an incredible amount of work and service. I also noticed that some of the Royal people, Prince William and Princess Beatrice have narrow palates. I don't find that attractive, although William is good looking otherwise.

@@johnnyespalahento2431 I'm not a professional but I don't think it would cause any issues as long as the attachment is local to the tooth, and you don't need retention that doesn't invade past the first few incisors. An actual tooth would be attached in a similar way. I would actually suggest getting the implant! If the root of the tooth is missing the bone in the area can actually dissolve over the years, and I think it could actually be an issue NOT getting an implant long-term. Since your tongue might not interact with the bone in that area at all!

Doctor what's wrong with the frame rate and audio of this video? See about hiring someone to tune your equipment or edit your videos bc this is rather disorienting
