"If someone has your number, if someone has the information, if someone could really convince you to get on board, you would be surprised what you can fall for" - that's the main reason why I have never tried to put shame on those who have been scammed, regardless of how they had treated me. We all have our vulnerabilities, and there are a lot of people who know what buttons to push. Our duty as a society should not be to laugh at or be dismissive of those who have been scammed, but to actually be supportive of them. I mean, we have managed to stop smoking ads just so that we could protect those who are vulnerable, I don't see why we can't do that with financial scams too.

Why didnt yall cover the fact that Paul Le Roux was arrested around the same time that Satoshi disappeared?
@drewskeez11562 ай бұрын
its likely coincidental. As soon as Le Roux was arrested he began flipping and working for the government trying to reduce his sentence or get released. Le Roux would have done anything he could to stay out of jail, like he always did, including and up to leveraging the fact that he was satoshi to do it. He never attempted to do so because hes not satoshi. And there is no concrete evidence tying him to it. The guy who wrote Mastermind even admitted this himself many times. It's Adam Back. Barely sociable has a 3 part series about this and creates an extremely convincing case. Watch that, and then watch the interviews with Adam back where he is asked about Satoshi. Hes clearly nervous, untruthful, and uncomfortable when asked.

You should get the very first version of Bitcoin source code and make a deep analysis and comparison with any of the code written by Paul. Programmers tend to have a personal "handwriting" in picking files, functions and variable names, the code layout, the indentation, the structure of the sources directories etc.

Fascinating stuff. The early blocks thing is interesting in terms of the timings - how many actors (known or unknown) existed with the competence to not just run the software but do signing etc (which if I recall was not trivial with that first GUI/CLI) within the timeframe of the first blocks? All circumstantial stuff but yknow.

The point Evan was making is that they could have been (and probably are) signed recently

@@CryptoCriticPod ah this makes sense, obvious oversight on my part. So still limited to whomever could plausibly have mined those early blocks (or passed/taken control of those relevant wallet-keys to other actors) but signing not time-bounded (unless making a unverifiable assumption that the signed messages are legitimately contemparaneous and not forged)

49:01 Guys what are the chances Paul still has acces or even remembers where he has backup keys after 10 years. I also doubt he will get back his confiscated accounts and computers. EVER. Like too important. And why would he care. If he can get a few of his assets back he is set for life. And then Evan Ratcliff mentioned that only Paul had access to the encryption on his computers. So he could have wiped something but certainly not in a selective manner. Like delete all operation files but leave all keys and hide them

“Solochi“ sounds like a stretch…I wouldn’t even consider that as evidence, lol. Forums were very popular back in the day before discord, as well as IRC, and as far as emailing people asking them if you can use their code and how to credit them, that’s standard practice for FOSS. GitHub wasn’t around back then, you couldn’t just fork someone’s repo. This all sounds highly dubious. As far as the libertarian right wing racism stuff that fits literally cajilions of people.

Paul Le Roux just doesnt seem to really line up for me but I have not really given it any critical thought till this podcast. So I'm open to looking into it. But if he gets out in about 15 years from now and early blocks start moving...then we know whats up....or Adam Back is just waiting to move genesis coins for when Paul gets out to throw people off. On a final note... I would like it to be Notice that Paul Le Roux admitted on legal documents to being involved with or help set up 7 different murders (on top of his drug charges) and got 25 years.... Ross U got life for running a website and then rumor of a murder to hire with no real evidence of it presented in the court room. Something to think about...

Regarding Israel and extradition- not saying its right or wrong, but there is something you are missing. There is very strong historical trauma about the Holocaust, a view of the world as a place that persecutes Jews, and of the State of Israel as a place that should protect them. Its not that fraud is "not serious". Its that murder is serious enough to break these principals. Not defending this, but pointing out a world view that you may not understand.
