The GX is magnificent on bad roads due to SRAS which is indeed innovative. Please do more profound testing on the road and do some research. The engine alone is ❤

Motobob actually does a really good job at not being a jerk about a bike's shortcomings. Every bike I don't care which one always has room for improvement. In this video in no way was he complaining about the levels of traction controls. In fact he stated it as an advantage because you can customize it.

Soon, we will be seeing reviews highlighting the apps that the bike comes with, not the handling or engine. It would be nice if the dealer support was reviewed without bias. Most people don't have issues with modern bikes, but with dealer and manufacturer support when shit happens.

I test rode this bike and to be honest i loved it, my GF in the back didn't though so i am not sure about riding 2 up with this one however the bike itself rode beautifully and the engine was a gem, so much mid and top end power on that one.Right now i believe this is Suzuki's best bike in their line-up, it's a good looking one, it has plenty tech and plenty power, what's a curious thing that i wonder is why they did not implement android auto/car play on the dash?

My GF doesn’t complain about the rear seat of my GX, but a couple of years ago she did 3000kms in 12 days in the Pyrenees on a superduke R so I don’t know how much it counts. Android auto certainly would be a welcome addition, the proprietary Suzuki app is garbage.

Had a good look at the GX as i loved riding the GT version but didnt want cramped knees, however I'd prefer a base GX without fancy tech, if i had the choice ? Fully loaded the price is getting close to some pretty special bikes? In the end i declined this and the S1000XR due to quirkyness & secondary vibes & plumped for a proven low mileage V4S Multistrada instead 😊

When I had the GT A mode and TC on 1 was the way to go, everything else felt super neutered. But I also had it flashed and unrestricted by 2 wheel dynoworks, swapped to a 190/55 rear tire which made it so much better. The only reason I got rid of it was because it felt like a more cramped naked and the engine was too smooth that it lacked character and the fairing removal process was tedious. This bike is probably what I should've got if only it came out at the same time! I think I need to accept that maybe I need an ADV style sports tourer even though i'm not the biggest fan of them but they perform well and are fairly comfortable still and no extreme wind blast like nakeds.

I came from a XSR700 to a XSR900 and then to the GT to give you an idea, which were both torquey bikes and wheelie easily so I guess I never knew how lacking an inline 4s bottom end power was but it was definitely fun ripping into higher speeds/rpms.

I DID ride the BMW S1000XR for a couple of days on that tour, and loved that. There was no Yamaha, the other bikes being pure adventure motorcycles.

can confirm that the brembos on this have less initial bite and feedback compared to the tokikos on my 2023 v strom 1050. So much so that on the first proper turn I had ca bit of a brown pants moment. Very strange. I got used to them fairly quick but still. The dealer immediately said they have a line up of replacements pads ready to fix this. Other than that, amazing machine, that engine is a peach and it sounds heart throbbingly good. QS is buttery smooth, can also upshift on throttle down which is really nice. Suspension is a gem, on medium it was stable as silk on bumpy roads, I don't know if it's because of that fancy SRAS thingy but it just works really good. Better than on a tracer 9 GT, even better than on a KTM 1290 adventure S. There's a reason why Suzuki usually comes later to the market with a feature, they perfect the crap out of it. The windshield was disappointing, I'm 176 cms (5'9") and my head was getting buffeted like hell in the high position (I think). Gonna stick to my strom for now, more confortable for my needs.

Not being funny, but 1000cc inline fours still have a serious amount of poke down low. Yeah, they don’t hold a candle to a Super Duke, but they definitely go like shiz off a shovel all things considered. I will never forget jumping onto my 4C8 straight from my wife’s Monster and feeling a wall of torque on that litre lump - pulled way harder than the Ducati V-twin from the off.

thanks for the review! to clarify things, I'm getting it next week (in blue like this one), as a replacement for my 2023 VSTROM 1050 SE, why? because I do 15,000 kms a year, and the roundness of the Vtwin is fun, even pleasant, but tiresome in the long run. And even if I have to admit that the VSTROM is an excellent bike, it's heavy and above all the weight is really high. I can't wait to get my 1000GX, (1€ panniers), and I'm already planning to fit Michelin Road 6s, the original mounts are crap (on the STROM they were a horror). Thanks for pointing out that the 1000XR is better, but is it €5000 better? I'm not convinced.

@ehiggins7476 I don't think that the 1000XR is better, all the testers tend to say that the BMW is "slightly" better, better finished, better protection, adjustable windscreen, etc. But these same testers forget to specify that to have roughly the same specifications as the Suzuki, you need a lot of options, and the price goes up to 23000 without suitcases. . In fact, I just wanted to point out that, unlike the others, Motobob emphasizes the fact that the 1000XR is a little better, but a lot more expensive.

I tried those tires on my sport Tourer and they were awful. Switched to Michelin and it transformed my bike to next level in grip, handling in hot cold and wet weather riding.

I think the Moto Guzzi V100 would be my choice, maybe a little over the Yamaha but if you are going over the 10K mark, then go for the style and that Moto Guzzi is very appealing to me. Declared noise is 97dB, which means no-go for Austria or border region Germany/Austria due to 95dB noise limit on the typical biker routes. Mentioned S1XR is more expensive, but here in Germany not too far away from Suzi, where XR has more techno/safety features and nicer front with superb cornering light. Evil tongues say that the S1XR engine has origin in K5 many years ago.

In Germany versys is around 12.8k and this suzuki starts at almost 17.4k. It anything but good value for money.

The lackluster bottom end on ANY i-4 engines with a flat crank can be greatly reduced by the use of VVT . . . BUT . . . we all know that will never happen on what's a entry level crossover (yes, $18,5OO it's considered entry level nowadays 😭). As I had a bike for some 5000k km in my possession I must agree that is unfinished product. Comfort once me lift the windshield add laminar lip is ok. Problem definitely ware tires and to be honest why should I buy new tires because oem are crap? Settings are fine but what really turned me off is fact that I had no visibility in the mirrors above 4.5 k rpm , passenger seat to small and worst of them all was instability on high speed. Wobble was so pronounced above 200 k km that I decided that is dangerous. Brakes are medium. Expected much better. One other thing is the light. Worst ever. I did not like to ride at night. Could not see much in curvy roads especially going down hill. Forgot to mention that bike is very thirsty no meter how you ride. Finally I got rid of it. Total disappointment. 😢

@@FrauFitzer yes I didn’t like the tracer GT suspension, especially the front and the lack of front end feel. And believe me I really wanted to like the tracer, the engine is very good and has excellent fuel consumption for the power it puts out. Didn’t like the ergos too but that’s very personal. In the end I went for the GX, quite bad fuel consumption, more expensive but I love the gearbox, the engine mid range and the suspension is very good once dialed in imo. I owned a speed triple R with full ohlins and a superduke R before, so I believe to have a good reference regarding suspensions and chassis on upright bikes.

@@alphajed7700 1043 in the Versys has been tuned very differently than the 1043 in the Ninja. I wouldn't expect any difference between the 1099 for either. The 56cc difference I'll imagine is a market strategy to keep the bike "fresh" in spite Euro5+. Yamaha also bumped the MT-09 from 847cc to 890cc for similar reasons, and in a lot of cases, you compare the 2014 MT-09 to the 2024 MT-09 and the old bike weighed less, make slightly more peak power, but less midrange torque.

Personally, am on an SV650 as my first bike and love it. One major advantage that isn't often mentioned is the low-RPM assist which make low speed manoeuvering much easier for a beginner (also makes it nigh impossible to stall -- though you still will to start with). Though, if you're on the taller side I'd try the v-strom 650 as well, as it has the same engine but might be a bit more comfy.

I’ve never understood why motorcycle tires are basically bald. But if your car tires don’t have any tread,then you say they’re worn out,and you get new ones. What gives?!

Tread (sipes) only work in the wet. Slick tires grip best in the dry.

It's how channels are monetized, because making videos all day isn't profitable without pay, compared to working an 8 hour job. If ads are annoying, there's blockers for that.

@@benkelly2190 as a GX owner I agree the XR looks better, but it costs quite a bit more once you have similar specs. After half a dozen euro bikes, including two very problematic KTMs, I have to say I’m more than satisfied with a hassle free Japanese bike.

@@GCTO239 I agree quality is more than that, I’m just admitting the GX front brake isn’t anything to write home about. It works and it works MUCH better after a few hundred kms, out of the dealer it was awful, but having owned bikes with better brakes (a 1290R and speed triple R) I know the brakes could be better. Everything else is very good imo.
