It’s almost irrelevant how good Jimmy is. He’s only started about half the games in 3 seasons. You need either a high level backup or a strong rookie because there a 50% chance jimmy won’t be healthy.

That knee injury really sidetracked his career. He use to have such quick feet, not fast but his footwork and maneuverability was at a high level and was able to make throws and plays while moving. Now more or less he's a pocket passer that looks like he's moving through mud all the time. What made him special was his ability to move.
@Crasoma

@@paulc7400 Completely agree Jimmy should be used as an example for other up and coming QBs that you have to take priority i n protecting yourself, if you know you can throw the ball and run a bit why take unnecessary risk? Jimmy went all hero foward foward like if he was a running back and got injured he should have prioritized sliding and taking the L in deferring to the stronger defensive players coming a him and just sliding. That rushing mentality in a QB that can throw is no go.

There not going for a quarterback, they are going for the Oregon offensive lineman penne Sewell to go with their star left tackle. People are realizing that the offensive line is what’s important. Brady was able to beat Patrick Mahomes because of his offensive line. Alex smith career was almost over because of the best defensive lineman Aaron Donald, so every nfl team is realizing that it’s defensive lineman that can ruin your quarterback because defensive lineman are the only positions that are getting stronger and faster (which can be considered as defensive ends also)

I don't agree that Steve Young was out to dethrone Joe Montana. In the documentary series "A Football Life" Young said he was told by Bill Walsh that Montana wasn't coming back because of an injury and if he had known Montana was healthy he would never have agreed to the trade. I think Walsh was more responsible for the qb controversy back then than anyone else.

Hey Mr generic douchey sports fan that has to unjustifiably insult players for not being perfect, for someone who's never played professional sports, you sure seem to have an ego to be derogatory towards someone who's done nothing to validate it. You could have just said he was injury prone but, you like many other jerk off fans feel the need to harshly label players, as if they're not human beings like the rest of us... Lastly ,no I'm not a jimmy g or diehard niners fan, but I am quite fed up with how awful most sports fans act towards employees in an effing game.
