I think this model's shape and the paint design was inspired by Kiesel. It's obvious that this model came out the year after Kiesel came up with Aries and it made Kiesel gain more popularity. First time I saw it , clearly it reminded me of Kiesel in a second. The same way went to AZ series which was released in NAMM right after Guthrie's Charvel became the "most wanted". But Ibanez always made their versions more affordable. This happened all the time as if it's the Ibanez marketing strategy.

Every time Bea picks up a 7 string he says it's "out of character" for him then proceeds to absolutely KILL it on the damn thing.
@JimijaymesProductions3 жыл бұрын
I mean he plays baritones and drop tunes standard length guitars, the extra width might be a bit for him but otherwise it can't be a huge shift compared to say someone used to playing on 80s superstrats or 60s fenders. I just think Bea is too bashful and always states when out of his comfort zone only slightly even though he's a killer player.
@maximeb1903 жыл бұрын
@@JimijaymesProductions Yeah, no matter how insanely good he plays, he remains a very self-conscious dude. It's unfortunate how much lack of confidence shines through sometimes, I respect him and love his playing so much.

He's right, single coils are the djent/prog metal future...AAL use single coils some times, and I have been using Teles for metal for 20 years..many players do. Some killer hi gain metal tones in single coils....plus cleans and mid to low gain are on a different planet, with modern gates, the noise is no longer the issue, its about what you prefer sound wise

So as far as I understand it, tightening up a distorted sound is all about managing bass frequencies. Too much gain on too hot a pickup can introduce a lot of flubby distortion. There are a few ways one can try it deal with this. 1. Reduce the output of the pickups (by splitting, parallel, or even turning the volume down) 2. Using an EQ pedal to remove the undesired bass frequencies. 3. Use a "trebel booster" like a rangemaster or something simular. 4. Use a bass cut tone knob. Like what's in the Fender PTB circuit or in Reverand guitars. I put low output pickups in my PRS SE Baratone. I used a Seymore Duncan 59 and a Custom 5.
@kitoyobeni13 жыл бұрын
That's why my ears perked up when Rabea said Dimarzio PAF7s in that last guitar. Classic lower gain humbucker designed for 7 string, sounds more my thing than the Aftermaths. The classic voiced pickups with a 7 string have interested me for a while, albeit not for djent but just exploring options. As much as I love the look of the first 7, that second one is much more affordable and sounds better to my ear. I guess I just need the 1st one with the Dimarzios, lol...
@tamasnagy39233 жыл бұрын
My RGD71alpa just arrived yesterday. The individual sadles wasent bolted down properly, they looked like organ whistles. Not expected from 1139£ guitar. Other else, when i bolted down properly, and set up the pickup height, sounds incredible clear and throathy. But QC is failed again 😔
@Crowbar111153 жыл бұрын
Speaking of the "Active Pickups only sound one way" thing...The EMG Retroactives are AMAZING! I don't think I've played more versatile pickups. I ordered a 2nd hand Squier Jazzmaster that had them installed already and was blown away! Cleans are exquisite and the High Gain tones are brutal.

One thing you should know about the fishman modern pickups. One voice is supposed to be more of a modern active sound, where as the other voice is supposed to be a modern passive sound. Usually controlled by a push pull on one of the knobs. The rg models seemed to come with a coil split, but I don’t think all fishman loaded guitars have that. To me they don’t seem to push the gain on an amp unnecessarily like other active pickups. They also seem to have more clarity than most modern sounding pickups. These are very versatile, if you take the time to try out the different voicings. Honestly the best sounding pickups ive heard.

The 7 string with the coil splitted gives the perfect "intro sound" for any djent piece, I don't think you wanna play like an entire song whit heavy strumming or the lack of bass frequency will hurt the tone too much. But having the option opens to many possibility, it's a great sond for clean intros, breakdowns even with high gain amp. And the Bare Knucles simply are killer pickups, every time on any rig will absolutely shred anything. What a machine
