There is a shop in Grand Rapids MI area that rebuilds those hydrostat’s. Michigan John Deere dealers use them. Always an option if it has any issues later on.

There is an 8820 on marketplace for $6000 that’s always been shedded in NY…. Might as well buy that and have all the other parts like was your thought process with the green Mack

9600’s selling for under $10,000 Canadian up here, I’d seriously reconsider spending too much on an old old combine , the problem is the next problem

You can send some of your rain my way out here in Iowa. It’s been almost two months since a good rain has come.

If you haven’t done it on the corn head I would take the chain covers off on the end and look the chains over good. If the chain breaks it usually wraps up around the sprocket and destroys the covers which are expensive
@DickAnderson-k9y8 сағат бұрын
Our old John Deere combine had 156 grease points with the corn head on and if you didn’t have the owner manual then I can guarantee that you would miss some. The ones you miss are also the hardest to get to the bearings. So when they seize up then they are a bitch to replace. So make sure you are greasing everything or you will be sorry. It’s time well spent and grease is cheap. 😊

That old combine will be headaches until the day you junk it. Lol
@SlipShodBob10 сағат бұрын
😂 the same goes for newer, nearly new and new the difference is in cost as while the $90k+ for Larson's new engine was covered under the plan they have on them do you honestly think JD etc don't account for those on the price when paying for the plan or combine. The hours put on them maybe low but they are hard hours as generally it is idle for warm up and cool down if they kind often it tends to be on and seconds later full throttle then turned straight off unless the roads are small that you have to crawl along. The only issue with old combines are the availability of parts and worn metal work but with more companies selling weld in liners and reflighted augers etc it is getting easier. Edit: I believe there is even a company here now that does remade balanced rotors for the old TR combines as well as due to the cost of new more are hanging on to old.

Other parts are is high as John Deere but they can get parts overnight and when you farming that's good
@willianvos35213 сағат бұрын
When you fix most tractors you have enough with 8 or less wrenches to fix it with johndeere you need 15wrenches to fix it
