Did the DANIEL DUBOIS / JOSEPH PARKER "face off" reveal anything worth noting?

If you watch that Hrgovic fight again there’s a moment when Dubois looks like he was contemplating taking a knee….but then Dubois head opened up those cuts.

I think the hard thing is that we're actually struggling to place where Parker and Dubois are at levels-wise, precisely because of the previous opponents they've had. Parker has beaten an ageing and unfit Wilder and Zhang. Dubois has beaten a VERY unfit Hrgovic and Miller. Hrgovic couldn't put more than 2 punches together and had no second phase attack and Miller couldn't throw a decent punch after the 4th round. Meanwhile, Joshua's performance against Dubois was one of the worst of any heavyweight boxer I've seen. Let's not be fooled by Joshua's athletic appearance. He always looks good but his defence, reaction time and range awareness were some of the worst I've ever seen. I suspect most heavyweights anywhere in the top 20 would have beaten Joshua that night and it just so happened to be Daniel Dubois. For all these reasons it's actually really hard to know who will win this fight! Who is actually in that upper level of fighters? Who has REALLY improved and shifted into the elite-level heavyweights? Who really is the 'new and improved' boxer of Parker and Dubois? I'm excited to find out!

I don't think Hrgovic or Miller were unfit, they just took a shillacking off Dubois which drained them. Getting hit has an effect on you, much like how Wilder looked exhausted in the 2nd Fury fight due to Fury smacking him round the ring...it takes it out of you

Bravado is not an indication of confidence, its the opposite. DDD is weak minded and no amount of punch power can compensate for that against a skilled and thinking boxer. Parker out thinks and out boxes Dubios to become a 2 time world champ.

I got annoyed listening to Frank Warren talking tbh; for me it spoiled the face to face. I think a lot was cut out of the video as well. Maybe a longer version will be released later.

It revealed to me that Andy Lee especially is clutching at straws and is hoping for the best in terms of Parker's performance. He is hoping that Parker puts on one of those moral victory sort of performances. It also reveal to me that Parker is trying to "little boy" Dubois the same way that AJ, Hrgovic and Miller did in their build. It is easy to do that because Dubois is younger and even more immature in his outward attitude. They all fell into that psychological trap. Dubois looks in fantastic shape and is ready to fight now. I saw that when I watched a recent video of both men when they met in Dubai when Parker looked like a tourist in his flip flops. Dubois will go through Parker like a hot knife through butter. You cannot ignore Parker's career history of not having a meanstreak whem required and not stopping a single named heavyweight on his resume. I expect Dubois to box more in this fight and show some more variety in preparation for Usyk because he has an opponent in front of him that is durable. But Dubois can end it whenever he wants or Andy Lee will have to pull him out. I don't see this fight going into the second half of the match. If it does Andy Lee pulls out Parker in the seventh round.

Parker was able to survive Zhang early and take advantage of his poor gas tank, even then he still got dropped twice. He won't have the same luxury with Dubois, in fact I think the opposite will happen, that Parker gas due to the relentless pressure of Dubois and will be stopped late. Especially with Andy Lee seemingly wanting Parker to come in heavier which will only serve to slow his legs.

Forget that hrgovic landed big punches? It was sickening how many huge punches landed, and with ease. Nobody can take punishment like that for too long, ask Joe Joyce. Saying that, Dubois does have a wallop and he starts fast. Zaing can hit but he’s slow and gasses out,wilder was a joke on the night, so Parker could be in for a torrid night. I expect Dubois to win this one.

I agree with the “script” point about Dubois. Johnny Nelson made a similar point in a recent video - whereby Dubois can ‘remember’ but not think in the ring. I believe this is exactly the point Parker and Andy Lee will look to exploit, and basically do something akin to a copy of Usyk approach. Of course Parker isn’t as good as Usyk but I can see his durability and movement navigating him through the rounds . I’ve got Parker winning on points with Dubois mentally exhausted and out of ideas after round 8-9 after expecting to do a number in 3-4 rounds and being left overextended. I don’t think Parker has an iron jaw, but like you say Joe, Zhang isn’t just any puncher, I think he’s either stopped or dropped everyone he’s been in with, even Hrgovic? Also, what’s the score with a Sonny Liston video? As a longtime subscriber please could I ask that you do more historical videos Mr. Stunner. 👍🫡
