Will the rate cut lead to inflation? How can I protect my stock portfolio of around 800K? I'm very worried about my portfolio losing value. Do i move to 100% cash? I just have a ton of questions.
@Theresaa122 сағат бұрын
This is the what people that handle their portfolio themselves go through. I will advice you get yourself some fiduciary advisor to help you redistribute assets in your portfolio to match every market season.

I've been through the 'bonds are beating stocks' periods since the 90s with no bonds and with all aggressive stock mutual funds. At 59, my IRA and cash accounts are far more than I expected for my retirement. I can easily handle a worst-case 80% stock crash, Thanks to my advisor.

Oh I've heard similar things about hiring an advisor. It's hard to choose one that's very good though. Could you make some useful recommendations?

What people including Kudlow doesn't realize is that when the fed's cut the rate it takes months to filter into any significant changes. You can just make a cut and expect everything to change overnight. Its not a light switch. I expect another 1/2 point in November because inflation is still rising.
@robindarrow17382 сағат бұрын
I, personally am happy they cut the rate in September, it really helped me with my mortgage as I am low income and have alot of other bills.
@stevefarris94332 сағат бұрын
I doubt that them cutting the rate changed your current interest rate. The inflation rate is not going down. Your eggs, bread, milk is still going to cost 25% more than it did 4 years ago. By the way mortgage rates are creeping back up. If you think interest rates for us ordinary Americans is going down try buying a house now..

@@Jimmy-yu9xy No. It USED to be. But since Clinton moved to short term borrowing from long term, the S&P 500 has often moved contrary to the health of the economy. People moved to stocks because bonds and other stable investments lost their stability. The market moved up because you can't make money anywhere else.

I don't really blame people who panic. Lack of information can be a big hurdle. I've been making more than $100k passively by just investing through an advisor, and I don't have to do much work. Inflation or no inflation, my finances remain secure. So I really don't blame people who panic.
