Interactive play is whats hip when it comes to creating kid's toys, the more the doll seems like it is actually responding, the better the play is the sort of idea. If, say, the kid is playing and sits the doll down, to do something else, the doll is meant to issue a response, something something helping imagination, social communication or whatever.
