Sir very good video...atleast you confirm that due to few egocentric people socialism collapsed in ussr. 1 thing i would like to add is socialism is a science, and as any scientific system be it a car engine, a mobile phone ,scientific principles should be strictly applied, otherwise scientific system will fail . This happens in ussr too..collective ownership principle was undermined by revisionist like gorbachev and they restored capitalism from back door. Ho chi minh, vietnam leader once told that a mirror should be cleaned frequently otherwise dust will settle on it. Likewise to sustain socialism proletarian class should constantly endeavour for it, even a particle of capitalist culture can rot whole system.

Since day one, USSR had to safeguard herself from the external and internal opposition. Not only opposition but also the task of expansion under the heavy arms of Stalin despite that he pursued a policy of "Socialism in one country"! USSR was a big experiment, a big culmination of contradictions. While CAPITALISM in the world had reached the stage of IMPERIALISM and WORLD-WAR-II, the so-called SOCIALISM in USSR led to the sharpening of contradictions and polarisation. From 1917 to 1991, USSR for about 75 years was SOCIALISM IN THE MAKING / SOCIALISM ON TRIAL. Ultimately USSR lost this long trial and shed away this tough ordeal.

Never forget to read Gorbi's memories. Start your ideas from the fall of the Berlin Wall. In Western European countries, Tyrant Stalin's statutes were smashed. Still, in Russia, many parts of that country especially Muslim areas badly discriminated. Pakistani communists still sitting in 1917. Gorbi has a word for these communists, Conservative Communist.

Some viewers ask questions about the number of the union republics of the USSR. There were 15 union republics (Soviet Socialist Republics), some of them included autonomous republics (ASSRs) as their administrative units. The number varied at different times. In 1991 there were 20 autonomous republics (+Gorno-Altai ASSR, which was declared in 1990, but it was not recognised). However, that is not so important.
@meikylawan3148 Жыл бұрын
I agree this is the reason why many former soviet republics were not able to establish democracy. It was those very old communist elites who became the new oligarchs and presidents, if movements had been people led democracy would have been given a chance.

Actually Capitalism was restored in Soviet Union after 20th Congress itself in 1956 after renegade revisionists like Khrushchev took over. The Soviet Union which collapsed in 1991 was just a namesake socialism which was actually state capitalism.

On top of this, the CIA afterwards actively supported Yeltsin not just ideologically but also through funding and had their people literally visit Moscow to help campaign for him. They ran ads in Russia extolling Yeltsin and lied about his popularity even though Yeltsin was pretty unpopular among the Russian people in the initial stages of the run-up to the 1996 election. The Time Magazine at the time even had a cover and ran a story boasting about this. Here's a relevant article. off-guardian.org/2018/02/19/yanks-to-the-rescue-times-not-so-secret-story-of-how-american-advisers-helped-yeltsin-win-the-1996-presidential-election/

what about gulag archipelago by solzhenitsyn?
@andrey-uf1tg2 жыл бұрын
A couple of quotes about Solzhenitsyn from a liberal source (Radio Liberty: "Solzhenitsyn Leaves Troubled Legacy Across Former Soviet Union") : "He wrote a long article saying that Russia has to be a separate state, that it has to kick out the other 14 republics. He wrote that the republics were Russia's 'underbelly,' meaning that Russia was feeding them and would prosper if they were discarded... " "In May 1996, a group of respected Kazakh writers attacked "Komsomolskaya pravda" for publishing an interview with Solzhenitsyn in which he called for northern Kazakhstan to be incorporated into Russia." " Ales Antsipenka, a Belarusian philosopher, says that after the essay "Rebuilding Russia," "I realized that Mr. Solzhenitsyn was a common Russian imperialist..." "He joined the very narrow, reactionary, and primitive world of Russian imperial ideology. His speeches on Ukraine were horrid. They were wrong, they were full of false information, the kind of information that Russian society is being fed..."

@monkehitstring6 жыл бұрын
its not, the government declares itself secular and doesnt interfere with religion in anyway possible. basically everyone gets all the religious freedom they would want. the philosophy really is that the working class is equally suppressed by the capitalists no matter what the religion or gender or anything.

Lived in Russia few years, in 90s. Met lot of people who lived though soviet union time, and also the new generation. Also visited many x Russian states and muslim states too. If you say they have high level of freedom of speech, and freedom of religion, freedom of economy then Dr. Taimur sab, you read or inspired by mostly pro. socialist and communist literature. I respect your work, and also knowledge, and do listen you. And yes I am proudly liberal. But I do not think socialism is a good working system (in long run). I don't think capitalism is a good working system either in its pure form. We have tried, and somewhere still trying both but they speak themselves no matter what you say if socialist would have done this or that then picture would be different. Currently I am living in Denmark, also lived in Sweden... where it is mix of socialism, capitalism and highly developed democracy, plus freedom of expression. What I observed we need capitalistic engine for performance in general, industrial performance, growth and high level of innovation... else Soviet union, China (before adopting capitalist elements) , Cuba, North Korea all are in front of us. Sometimes I feel you talk like those who say if we bring Sharia all the problems will be solved, in the say same way we adopt Socialism our political, social and economic will be solved. We really need to sync theory with reality and our historical experiences.
@ajmaeenmahtab84565 жыл бұрын
If you are proudly liberal then you were not supposed to be supporting socialism or communism. And please check Cuba and North Korea's health care system before saying anything. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Health_in_North_Korea,,,, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Healthcare_in_Cuba

Differences aside; if any socialist country could ever exist, it would only be possible with an anarcho communist mechanism, state socialism is no different than capitalism as it ultimately gives power to a small group of people, hence state socialism is an oxymoron for state capitalism.

No one can deny the fact that muslims were persecuted in Soviet Union.
@tankseverywhere14922 жыл бұрын
Muslims weren't persecuted in the USSR, they were allowed all basic needs. Instead Muslims are oppressed in Pakistan, with lack of education, lack of food, lack of healthcare, lack of work, lack of housing and the dictatorship of the rulling class.
