When Crash Bandicoot 2 released as a PS1 Classic for the PS3 it was, for reasons unknown, missing analog controller support.
This omission contributed to the misconception that there were versions of Crash 2 which did not have analog controller support.
This video demonstrates that the PS Store version of the game does support the analog controller, and it isn't a special "analogless" version of the game. The analog controller option being inaccessible in the release is an unfortunate misconfiguration of the PS3s PS1 emulator, that for some reason Sony never fixed.

Q&A
Q. Why does the video show the games parental level as 7? The PS store version should be level 2!
A. The parental level is also set in the PARAM.SFO file. I changed it to another value at the same time as fixing the ANALOG_MODE so as to make it easy to tell whether or not the PS3 had loaded the modified file (see ps3hdd.pages.d... for details).
Q. Can this be fixed without access to the PS3s hard disk drive?
A. As much as I would like to provide a solution that works for everyone, without access to the disk drive it isn't possible to modify the file required to fix this issue.
