The pc argument isn’t stupid. It’s starting to be a lot more of a better choice than paying for a one trick pony Sony. More and more “exclusives” are starting to move over to pc. There’s no yearly subscription to play online. You can play basically any game without worrying about backwards compatibility and so one. Plus, pc gaming is more than just for gaming, you can legit make games if you wanted to on your own.

It's also super cheap. I've dropped consoles since 2018 and will never go back. Went from over 1000 euros yearly gaming budget to around 200. The gaming library is infinitely larger than consoles. One GPU outlives multiple console generations while still delivering higher performance. And the argument of consoles being simpler to use has been quite irrelevant for some time now. Finally, pc gamers are beyond console wars bs as we know we will eventually get most games for way cheaper.

You dont need an $1800 PC to match the PS5 Pro, you have to realize that the consoles arent running these high budget AAA titles at *native* 4k without any form of upscaling. Most GPU's even struggle with that even now. And sony is trying to advertise 8K like anyone is even slightly interested in that. A $700 PC with a 30 series Nvidia Card or 6000 series AMD gpu will still provide a better experience.

By the time you have bought the disk extension (console digital prices are ridiculous) and a stand it will be like £800-£850. I could easily build a PC with perfectly good second hand parts for this price which would outperform the console. PS5 pro still isn’t going to be native 4K gaming it’s still upscaling, a similar pc using DLSS could easily outperform this and would look better too as PC upscaling with DLSS is far superior to console. You could build a pc with a 5800x3d and a 3070 easily for this price and could easily play at way over 60 fps 1440p native or 4k with help of DLSS. Also console games are so expensive, look at Star Wars outlaws best edition it’s like £120, I could get that for £70 right now on pc with a key and you don’t have to subscribe to play online, there’s loads of free games on pc too along with Epic store who give out free games every month. Today it makes sense to switch to pc you will save money in the long run

I had the steam deck since may and I been playing on that more lately than the ps5 though I have a big library. Plus steam is free for online and can get the game keys for cheaper and steam always have some bomb ass sales compared to PS and Xbox Pc is only digital which do sucks but how I see it is the games usually on sale on steam a lot. I had a good amount of stuff in my wishlist on steam and already have 37 games lol which is some old games I use to play and some other games I prefer to take on the go if I’m not taking my p5 anywhere If the digital game on sale then I’m all for it but full price nah. I even ended up downgrading my ps plus to regular cause it’s way too much money and I don’t even play online like that like I use to. I still like to get the free games though Oh, and you can emulate old games too which I love and might end up getting a pc sooner or later For a pro system, it should have came with the stand, pro controller and the disc tray no question asked. I prefer having disc and always will but I know these companies are pushing more on digital now sadly

I've been 95% PC/ 5% Switch since the middle of the PS4 generation, when Sony announced that their games will come out on Steam after a year or two anyway, plus the Square games too, plus free online plus mods. No it is not promoting switching to PC. Everyone in the comments claiming to be swayed to PC by the PS5 Pro's price is literally claiming to be a gaming enthusiast with $600, the patience to wait four years without already buying a system and finally an emptiness in their soul that can only be filled with unrevealed 2025 games running at 4K 120hz. Most of them are bots and I don't mean the Xbox kind. One of those bots is copy/pasting the same thing into multiple PS5 Pro videos and it's funny to me because they messed up the coding so it adds different amounts of return commands to their message. Some of them are PC guys who are mad that they still don't have Bloodborne. Playstation enthusiasts who were already going to get the Pro already knew from the months of leaks that it would: cost around $600-$800, exclude a disk tray to save costs, exclude the Dualsense Edge to save costs, have an improved GPU, have improved raytracing and utilize AI image processing called PSSR. It's exactly what we were all expecting and I'm going to buy it because i already decided that months ago.

Literally a whole channel dedicated to not paying full price for games and wonders why so many games studios are being closed. Gaming is and always has been an expensive hobby. Its not a necessity, its an enthusiast hobby. People will go and spend $300 on a night at a hotel and get a $200 dinner date, for one night and be fine with it. Shit people spend that or more on a concert ticket. Some things are just "expensive" and most expensive things besides healthcare are just things you like. If the pro aint for you thats fine. I built a gaming PC for 1440p 170hz and it's hard to go from it to PS5 because PS5 is so much slower when it comes to gaming. There is a difference between 170hz and 100hz and I have PS5 on a 144hz tv but the games max out at 100hz like god of war Ragnarok is 100hz while running that's max it goes down from 100hz and then up I've never seen 120hz on PS5 games I own.

The PS5 Disc Drive add-on in the US is only $79.99 not $100. The 4070 not on sale in the US is $600 and then you still need to buy a motherboards, 2 TB SSD which is around $200 for the same type in the PS5 Pro, Windows install, a processor if you go with the lower Ryzen 5 is $170, liquid cooling which is around $91, power supply which is around $100, then you need a controller. game case which is also around $100 and Ram. Sure you need to pay to play online but you get free add-ons each month, 3+ games each month plus added discounts. I have spent $780CAD since 2010 on PS+ and have had PS+ Premium since launch and it's good until next year. So that $780CAD I spent through being smart enough to get the yearly subscription when it's on sale and based on discounts alone have saved well over $12,000CAD on added discounts from having PS+. So you say spending $780CAD and saving over $12,000 plus 800+ PS+ premium games and at least 800 games I have gotten through PS+ Essential means it's a good deal.

Idk, wait until the holidays and see where the price lans. Its the cost of a cell phone (not even a high end one) but no finamcing. I hate is has no disc drive, but it would be 750 at that point at least. I have a gaming pc, only 2 years old i dont use. If your a console gamer, you likely arnt interested in pc gaming.

I watched the presentation on my phone so I'm probably not getting the just of it, but I'm usually the type of gamer that doesn't notice differences that much when it comes to fidelity and ray tracing and all of those things. I'm not getting a pc because I can't afford one lol. The original PS5 works just fine for me. The pro has absolutely nothing that would make me get one for that price. If I had to fork over that amount or more for a decent PC then I'll just stick to upgrading a console every 7-8 years. At least I could save the money up, and I don't have to deal with everything that comes with the PC environment when I want to just play a game. I think it will still sell for the die-hards, but yeah it's got nothing I want.

There is another place to having PC as well you get access to free epic games a huge library of free games steam has some free games as well. Like right now you can get on PC and play a plague tale requiem for free. If you buy a PlayStation and you buy PS plus guess what you get three free games to start off with.

Any modern PC can easily do what the ps5 pro can do and more. Ps5s have a zen2 cpu from 2019 and rdna2 graphics. We’re now on zen5 and soon to be rdna4 on pc. Not to mention Nvidia having GPUs that are orders of magnitude faster than those that are in the consoles.

The upfront cost may be less expensive but what’s he’s explaining is the not so long term, it’s cheaper. Also with the pro consoles, you are stucked of waiting devs updates/upgrades to get the full features of your hardware. PC if you upgrade it you will be able to unlock these features yourself. PC gaming = cheaper games, free online multiplayer and you got a pc to do anything you want.

Whenever Sony is on top (in their mind) they always tend to get arrogant and try to rip of their customers. Playstation got big and No. 1 outside of the USA. As a thanks we get higher prices for games (80 €=88$) and hardware (PS 5 pro without everything: 800 €=880 $). Since my Steamdeck came two years ago, i am out of PS plus and try to buy as little as possible at playstation. If Steam would put out a new powerful console i would buy any new game there and just use the PS5 to play uncut international versions of games: ... on disc.

I already got PC since the ps5 release. I pretty much bought the ps5, X and switch for the esclusive games and i got to said i rarely used my ps5 and X consoles since most PlayStation and xbox games are coming to PC these consoles are becoming useless for me. these ps5 pro just looks useless a least from my point of view.

If you have a high-end PC, yeah, at that point, it truly is pointless to buy a Pro model. Especially since all of the PS exclusives will get a PC release sooner or later. What still pisses me off to this day, tbh, is the retarded, pardon my french, issue related to PSN that’s region-locking those same games. Thanks to that, since PSN isn’t available in my country, I have no way of buying them except ‘sailing through the seven seas’ if you catch my meaning. But if your PC build is pretty dodgy and you don’t really wanna ‘break the bank’, then a PS5 Pro is kinda worth it in that context, I think.

take a look at newegg. They post frame rate and resolution benchmarks with their prebuilt systems. I took a peek and one of the systems just under $1000 gets you very close.
