Shmee, Robert, Mischa, and Engineering Explained didn't actually disprove anything, what they did was corroborate the speed Ollie Webb obtained in the first run. What each of them failed to figure out is that the video was a composite of two runs made that day, the final speed was super imposed on the right, which explains the reason for the blurred speedo, the footage used was from the first run where 287 mph was obtained by Ollie Webb, which explains why each of them reached extremely similar numbers in their final calculations. All they did was stir up shit where none existed, the car may have made another run and reached a speed that is faster than Koenigsegg's number but guess what? No matter what those fools concluded, the car is not a street legal car then and is not now, which means the record is still technically in Koenigsegg's corner. I will defend SSC but they do not have the record, and won't until the car is homologated. By the way, Hennessey's own car isn't homologated either so unless it reaches homologation standards it won't hold the record, no matter how fast the car is. Oh yea, I almost forgot, there is the whole issue of SSC not actually using the video as a legitimate claim, that was Top Gear. I was up the morning it was posted, the video came from Top Gear, not SSC, so spare me the bullshit.

The way it works is engineers present something and should never, ever say "theoretically" because from that on it will be the goal and in the marketing material. This was great! Very good information and analysis Tim! Initial impression is that the only realistic explanation (if it exists) is the video not matching the actual final run. Maybe they forgot to hit the record button? As for the gearing issue, I wonder (haven't ran the numbers yet) how much the rear tire diameter would have to expand (from g-forces) to match the target top speed. Maybe it's possible (for example with top fuel cars, though a significantly different tire, you can see the diameter of the tire changed dramatically during a run). I'd assume there would be a little expansion, though obviously no where near as much as you'd see in top fuel. Bigger diameter would mean your actual speed would be higher than speedometer reads.

If you want even more suspect evidence that SSC is lying: 1) They blocked @ghostsquadron.koenigsegg on Instagram for originally calling out the 'world record' footage. Kudos to the members of the Koenigsegg Registry for originally doing the math. 2) They've blocked comments on all their IG posts since Shmee150 uploaded this video. 3) The SSC film that they've been talking about still hasn't been released yet by Driven Plus - the company that created the video, and who are heavily promoting their new app on the back of this fake footage. Driven Plus sent the footage to Top Gear first slapping a reminder in the video for everyone to go sign up to the app. This all seems wrong now in hindsight since it's on the back of fake footage.

Apparently, on the 331mph run, a crosswind blew the car into the next lane and really freaked out the test driver, so maybe they used a less gnarly looking run for the video. Actualy the GPS units havn't been returned to Dewetron for verification yet as they can;t be beamed over instantly. They have been boxed up and shipped but not arrived. The videos was confrmed to be stiched together multiple runs for some reason (cock up by the editing company, so any review of it is a waste of time as your not seeing the true run), this has been confirmed. So basicly its a waiting till the telemetry can be reviewed and confirmed.

The SSC did not start flooring it until 200MPH, listen to the engine. At this point, manufacturers have mentioned that races are at the top end, 200MPH, and up. The driver gradually accelerated to 200MPH. and only then planted his foot down. Nothing holds traction with 1750HP. 0 to 200 is pointless at that power. PLUS, they had a run on opposite sides of the highway. Koenigsegg had a short distance to travel than the SSC who had a longer route at the end of the top speed run... Just take a look at Koenigsegg's view... mountains, signs, all different, because they had a top speed run in opposite directions. And the driver mentioned this " the SSC's speedo stops at 300MPH but had no limiter for the run, and the only thing he had in the car to measure speed was the GPS antenna from Guinness World Record. " They used their own laptop but used the GWR's GPS antenna to measure speed as input. Which is why you see the SSC Tuatara logo.

@@BIGGELATO , the video Top Gear posted was a composite of the first run Ollie made and the final run Ollie made with the final number super imposed on the right, that is the explanation for the interior footage and the blurred speedo. As for the car itself, what I find funny is that everyone supports disproving this run but no one has mentioned anything about the two way average the car reached prior to reaching 331 mph.....

I feel the same way. Because it’s Shmee making the claim, it just makes it so much more credible and believable. He would never do anything to tarnish his own or others’ reputation. He tries to remain positive at all times, and also steady as well. Not the type who goes against the grain so to speak.
