This is actually one of the few episodes where mistakes were addressed directly in the video comments! Death Battle showed off a new calculation that made 18 somewhere around a thousand times faster and acknowledged its mistake in allowing 18 to absorb energy. Luckily, it didn't matter for the winner this time. Also, from now on, they're at their top when it comes to Dragon Ball research. Every Dragon Ball character in an episode after this one is generally regarded to be at the correct power level, proof that this new way of doing research and finding the winner is far superior to their previous one.

@@LittleZbot The thing is that the Link/Cloud and Mario/Sonic remakes are still wrong. Sure Cloud could beat any individual Link, but a composite Link like the one they use, hell no. If you give composite Link everything then he could just use the 4swords power and a mask to become 4 fierce deity Links, all wearing the OOT gold gauntlets, with the superspeed champion ability, the ability to resurrect with Mipha's grace, 3 uses of Daruk's protection and Urbosa's Fury, the magnesis rune to get rid of Cloud's sword, and the time rune to freeze Cloud. Meanwhile FF7R gave Cloud literally no new power-scaling feats or abilities. I have played all the games that have to do with FF7, and people always give those characters power levels that far surpass anything actually shown. Sephiroth vs Virgil is still one of the biggest miscalculations they have ever done, second only to Shadow vs Mewtwo.

@@austenlong1 Dude, we don't give spoilers in these comments. (SPOILERS BELOW) The manga, one other game, and a japan-exclusive minigame shows that the Four Swords Power is tenuous and limited. It can only be held in concentration and breaks as soon as any other transformation or superpower is used. Magnesis has shown again and again to not affect weapons being held by foes, likely due to it becoming a strength contest between the opponent and the Rune, which Cloud wins every time. The Rune can be broken and interrupted by a wooden platform, and if a Moblin is strong enough where Link has to disarm it before snatching the weapon, it won't work on Cloud. Cloud also has materia that could allow him to cancel this Rune immediately or summon his sword back to him or do the same to Link's weapons. With unlimited amounts of materia and no need for a weapon to use them with, Cloud really doesn't need his sword anyway to have an arsenal that matches Link's. Stasis also works only for an extremely limited time on powerful foes. On a hinox, for example, it lasts less than two seconds, and Cloud is certainly far superior to one hinox. It doesn't even affect real bosses at all, shattering the moment it touches them, and thanks to the Yiga and Thunderblight, we know it isn't size-based, but rather power-based. And even though Link has equipment that boosts his strength and speed, none ever come close to closing that gap. And nothing that normally affects his strength and speed changes it in his Fierce Deity form in Majora's Mask or Hyrule Warriors. And I really don't see how you can watch a monster blow up a moon, then watch these character take the same blast AND DEFEAT IT in direct combat with no traps or tricks, and still say they're not at least as powerful as that creature. Actually, surviving full-powered attacks from Safer Sephiroth, who was one with the lifestream, is tantamount to tanking blows from a planet. Even in the Kingdom Hearts games (which I do disagree with how they measure in both their episodes, but regardless, blocking hundreds of lasers at once and pulling around Moons in seconds, way faster than Majora ever did, is way better than Link) Cloud and Sephiroth are shown as superior to Sora and the others. Trust me. I've researched Link to the far ends of the Earth, even through the untranslated Japanese Manga, the CDI Choose-Your-Own-Adventure books, the Tingle games, and the game show. Legend of Zelda is my second-favorite game franchise, and I've beaten every game multiple times, even the Satellaview ones, which most fans don't even know exist. Composite Link is not going to beat Cloud. Mario and Sonic one is def wrong tho, they really screwed up their research on that. Doesn't change that they thought they were wrong and admitted it, though. They having some integrity was the original point I was trying to make.

To my knowledge was 18 not being able to absorb and her speed where the only main issues, neither of which would change the outcome. I wouldn't say that's "getting dragon ball character horribly wrong" like others say. Just my take, could be wrong. Also can't say anything about captain marvel's research because I don't know her that well.

- I'm a bit iffy on this on. Mainly cause of 18 absorbing energy. That has never been a thing in canon and was video exclusive. Just feels like a cheat. - 5:22 Is that really surprising? Remember Piccolo blew up the moon in early DBZA. And he wasn't even half as strong as 18 back then. @@Codeninja676 You missed the part in Super(I don't remember which episode and the wiki doesn't say) where Whis stated that neither him nor Beerus have the energy to create a star. Meanwhile Carol while in Binary has the full power of a star and can use that enegy to boost her abilities, therefore being at max power would allow her to be faster than 18, even if she couldn't match 18's speed she could use that power to create a giant explosion and wipe out the Earth or even the solar system, and in that scenario 18 wouldn't be able to escape or survive the blast. Carol has some feats in the comics that outweigh the stats shown here. Carol has up against Thor and he has feats of absurd proportions.

@@austenlong1 Creation and Destruction are two separate powers in the Dragon Ball World the gods of creation are the Supreme Kai's but at the cost of being able to create their ability to destroy is greatly sacrificed while the Adverse is true for God of Destruction also Beerus can hakai a planet with his pinky, he can absolutely destroy a star just as easily hell any character stronger that Cell can destroy the Sun alongside the Solar System and Angels like Whis are in their own category as they are not allowed to interfere outside of time manipulation and training thus their powers of creation are st the same level as a mortal. Creating and equaling the power of a star is impressive but literally anyone stronger than Cell can slap Carol around like a football.

I kinda like how DeathBattle tries to only use statistics they can easily calculate and base them off individual character feats often, but there are things they overlooked (likely on purpose so that it could be a closer matchup) that rely on very simple (but at times obnoxious) power scaling. If I recall the classic example used to show DBZ characters' ridiculous speed and reaction time is a scene back in Dragon Ball (when Goku's a little kid) wherein a training scene with Master Roshi shows Goku dodging lightning strikes from a cloud. The wackiness of how fast you'd need to be to do that compounds with the characters constantly getting stronger and faster as the series progresses, and with the power of math and character transformation multipliers, you can hash it out that any main character as of the Cell saga and afterwards should be able to move Faster Than *Light*, which makes the mach 250 feat for Captain Marvel laughable. So yeah, when you pit Dragon Ball characters in who-would-wins and do some addition and multiplication, most other series characters stop stacking up pretty quickly

To maybe clear some confusion about Captain Marvel: When she was Ms Marvel she got power zapped by Rogue, but the power absorption turned out to be permanent unlike most such encounters with Rogue's touch. Then she went off to space, got experimented on, became Binary and spent some time as part of the Starjammers space pirate crew. There she served under Corsair, who was Scott and Alex Summers' (Cyclops and Havoc of the X-Men) father. Then later the OG Captain Marvel died and passed his powers to her, which basically took her original pre-Rogue powers, combined them with Binary's, and cranked them both up to 11 million or so. The movie made it a lot simpler by just having her get zapped by an Infinity Stone.

For some reason, they like to downplay how destructive Ki is, and only mention very small feats for Dragon Ball characters. I mean, Piccolo was able to destroy the moon easily before the saiyans arrived, and Frieza is able to destroy Planet Vegeta, a planet 4,64 times bigger than Earth and its mass is 100 times that of Earth in his first form. And 18 is stronger than Frieza's full power final form, which is 226x(I got this number by dividing his full power by the power of his first firm) stronger than his first form. So, you know. Easily way stronger than a planet Buster. Vegeta claimed his galick gun would destroy Earth, and given how much stronger he was than piccolo, who could destroy the moon, I believe him. I'd say 18 is why stronger than what they made her out to be. And she still won despite that downplay

Also they have had another dragon ball z character win. Vegeta won the fight aginst shadow.

You really should react to Dragonball, from the beginning as in Dragonball, not Z. The only issue would be copyright, but the episodes are 20 minutes each, give or take, so it would need the Hellsing Ultimate treatment with just some syncing segments, or cut out the filler to completely fair use things, which is easier and I'm sure a lot of fans would re-watch it with synced episodes :D You'd love it, early Krillin is the best, hes like a tiny master Roshi!

“Who’s super 17?” In dragon ball GT (the same series that gave us Super Saiyan 4) Dr. Gero (while he was still in HELL) teamed up with a sort of recolor of himself named Dr.Myuu, and together they made a new Android 17 officially labeled as Hell fighter 17 (or HF17) for short This HF17 ended up fusing with the actual Android 17 to create super 17, In short Super 17 was not only way stronger but he could somehow absorb energy, despite that not being an ability of either 17 or HF17 And because GT is stupid sometimes, Goku acted like this basically made him invincible since it meant he couldn’t kamehameha him to death (even though Goku could probably still punch him to death, it’s totally viable) With help from Android 18 Goku realized that not only is there a limit to what he can absorb, but he has to be in a specific pose to absorb energy at all. With that in mind, Goku killed him with a dragon fist followed by a Kamehameha after 18 used her Infinity Bullet attack to force him to the limit of what he could absorb As for gero and Myuu... they died again, big shocker.

The problem with deaht battle is that for the most part they always go whit the bigger feats for most franchachises, but for dragon ball they choice to use the weakest feats instead. So that make it look like they have a bias agains the dragon ball franchise

One other thing the death battle left out, most of the characters in dragon ball can casually destroy a planet anytime they wanted if you remember in episode 5 of dragon ball z abridged, vegeta destroyed a planet and it didn't take much power to do so and android 18 defeated vegeta who was significantly stronger than he was at that point, and I don't know if many marvel characters are planet busters, but unless if I'm mistaken, they can't destroy planets unless if they get a massive power up or using outside help, like a giant weapon for example.

There are enough planet busters in the Marvel Universe. It’s just that they don’t usually do that stuff because it ruins future writing potential. Although, I will say my favourite gadget that can destroy stuff in the Marvel multiverse is the Ultimate Nullifer, because of how non-threatening it looks, and it requires a godlike mental state to use it correctly otherwise you die before you activate it. Regarding Vegeta and the bug planet, I don’t really find that plausible. Because if it was that easy to blow up the planet, Frieza sure took his sweet time to blow up earth during Resurrection F when he was about to lose to Vegeta. Bug planet is filler. Definitely by the end of the Frieza Saga since only Piccolo, Krillin, and Gohan knew the severity of Vegeta’s last attack against Frieza because Frieza didn’t. But since Frieza overheard Piccolo yelling and questioning Vegeta’s sanity because of that attack, he bounced the attack into the sky and presumably space. Saiyan Saga, Vegeta says he can but the claim is rather questionable. As the Moon was destroyed by Piccolo, and Vegeta looked liked he put in a lot more effort into his attack than Piccolo did for the Moon. Granted the Moon is smaller, but Vegeta took a significant amount time in order to unleash the Galick Gun (if he were trying to destroy the planet). Dragon Ball and power scaling just don’t go together very well.

Androids 17 and 18 were superior to their energy absorbing counterparts 19 and 20. Energy absorption isn't as big of a deal when you have infinity energy. She's also faster and stronger than Marvel. Surprised you went against speed on this.

@@Rippen_Crippen A simple google search of "captain marvel faster than light" reveals that she can go FTL in her binary form, which she is limited in control and usage. The problem that is that it isn't reliable.

Dragonball Z characters were blowing up the moon with a powerlevel of around 5000 if I remember correctly, by the time we reach android 18 the power levels had risen to hundreds of millions.

I'm no expert with power scaling, but everything I've heard suggests their result holds weight. That said, their explanation and presentation is pretty clumsy, so I can't blame your vote. Still better than that golden tree feat they pulled a few seasons ago.

Like, remember all the times they talked about her surviving hits that could destroy buildings and similarly low level feats when anyone that knows the series knows that the villain from the previous arc that was way weaker than her could easily destroy planets and could also survive the ensuing blast?

5:25 let's remember that when Vegeta and Nappa first arrived to Earth, ya know, back when power levels were all the rage, that they could destroy planets as well. and to put it in perspective, Vegeta had a power level of 18,000 when he was first introduced, so now in the Android sage, their power levels are in the millions

Trust me when I say speed isn't everything. After all, being faster than your opponent doesn't mean jack if you're not strong enough to hurt them. The reason 18 won this is that she had numerous advantages, and that's even with her being downplayed by Death Battle's analysis of her abilities. She's stronger, faster, and more durable than they made her out to be, and even if they were wrong about her energy absorbing abilities, by which I mean she doesn't have any, she still knows not to keep feeding energy to people that can do that, because there's an arc in Dragon Ball GT where she works together with Goku to beat someone that has those same energy absorbing abilities that Androids 19 & 20 had. Plus, even though she can't absorb energy, the reason she can't is because doing so is redundant when your energy supply is limitless. That's the whole reason why 19 & 20 had the energy absorbtion, but 16, 17, and 18 didn't. Because they simply didn't need it.

So death battle got one thing wrong, she can't absorb energy, but her and her brother have an energy generation system such that their energy level never actually drops, as a result, they have infinite stamina. Some of the fights where they start off at a disadvantage, they wind up winning anyway just by outlasting the person attacking them. Not to mention, she picked up pretty quick from Vegeta the lesson that you can't use all of your power in a blast, or you risk blowing the planet, so realistically, her attack on Captain Marvel would've been nowhere near her peak capacity. They also DIDN'T show that the androids can generate a forcefield. Basically, the battle would've gone as shown until Marvel fired her blast. 18 would've endured instead of absorbing, would've no-sold it, and then proceed to beat her down.

18 dose have a limit to how high her energy is & it will slowly drain her power but she is powered by what they call an infinite energy cell or eternal generator, this lets her make energy forever & so she can attack with small attacks forever, & in games can't charge key but it will slowly charge over time with out the need to stop & power up

The one thing they sort of get wrong about 18 is the only time she takes energy from someone it is from other androids or a blast she made coming back to hit her. If the energy is from an android like when she fights along side 17 or if she hits herself with a blast she can pick up that energy & add it to her tank. She has never been seen that I know of to take energy from anything nonandroid, She never needed to because her power cell would never run out. So in this case if 18 attacks marvel & then marvel was to fire that energy back 18 could take it back into her bank but if the energy was from marvel derectly it could only harm 18

If u see Dragon ball GT a new android 17 is made & with that we get a fushion that makes the existing androids better so I really don't see how the energy taking powers of that can count when 18 is alone on this fight. It is not like there is anything after GT & she only got power because of the new 17 & so that was new 17 & 17 & 18 fighting & truning & so till the end of GT, yet super 17 is very close to the end of GT so we don't really see if 18 even keeps any powers she gets, I don't remeber her using them after that movie, I just know there could have been parts left over for her to use from 17, it is not really said who used them or if they even got used as 18 is not as importent to the story as Goku & maybe uub, but I saw GT so long ago I don't know if I trust my thoughts on it 100%

She can't absorb energy because she doesn't need to. She has infinite energy. They also downplayed the hell out of her stats. Kicking away SSB Goku kamehameha puts her beyond just... i don't even know how far ahead. I don't know much about captain marvel but if what they have here is any true indication of her strength... 18 should kill her just by breathing her way.

To be fair, both characters were massively lowballed. This is mostly just a quirk of old Death Battle episodes, since having very large numbers shown might have disconnected casual viewers. Android 18 still wins tho.

He also made a debunk for Jotaro and Kenshiro saying Jotaro would win, and as someone who has seen all of Hokuto and Jojo, Kenshiro stomps that fight hard. There is literally a part in Hokuto when Kenshiro is severely wounded and unconcious for a couple days, and some guys try to attack him and a literal stand comes out of his body and kills the guys. Kenshiro also has ranged ki attacks later on in the series, Musou Tensei is absurdly broken.

When only goku lost, vegeta vs. shadow: Vegeta won, Hercule vs. Dan habiki: Hercule won, Android 18 vs. captain Marvel: 18 won. So dragon ball Z is right now 3 to 1.
