I believe this one comment I saw put it best: Metal Sonic is how Eggman views Sonic; all of the power, but none of the character. Yes, in a way, Metal Sonic is technically more powerful that Sonic, but Sonic has that innate trait that all living beings have. Metal loses because he lacks what Sonic has in spades: individuality.

I just want to point out something about this. They state that Metal Sonic can only copy one thing at a time, but this isn't true. Their "evidence" for this is Sonic Rivals 2, which is a 1v1 battle/race game, where Metal Sonic's special power is to copy the special power of his opponent. In canon, Metal Sonic can copy as much as he wants, and the entire plot of Sonic Heroes is that he copies _every living being in the world._

When I originally watched this fight I went with Zero knowing his abilities through years of playing MegaMan X games. I knew about his time stopping powers and that Chaos Control only speeds the user up, not stop time. Back in Sonic Adventure 2, while Shadow was using Chaos Control, Sonic was still moving but in slow motion when compared to Shadow.

In the game megaman zero 1, the guardians of neo arcadia (which are like the strongest robots of the era) used to mock zero because he was absolete for like houndreds of years, and when they were about to fight him near the end of the game, their leader told them to stand down because they were no match for him. Now it's time to correct some mistake from DB: The Zero virus in his pod was not "mysterious" at all. It was there by design. The idea was that Zero himself would spread it across the globe when activated. The efect of the virus? Robot would be free of control. So they could rebel if they want. Buuuuuuut Sigma showed up, beat him and got infected. Zero got a severe case of wiped memory from his hard drive and Sigma choose to destroy humanity (since he is infected). He morphe the Zero Virus to his signature Sigma Virus wich...do the same thing but make robot his slaves and Zero got repaired with a clean memory card. He decide to work for the good guys and, because he coudn't remember anything, didn't activate the Zero Virus or any of his more destructible ability. The rest is kinda true. And being a robot, of course he can "resurrect". Cause...robot.

Personally, I found this fight fun, yet disappointing. No, it has nothing to do with Metal Sonic losing (and I’m a giant Metal Sonic fanboy). It’s mainly because they kind of didn’t use his abilities to their full potential. I was really hoping he would copy Zero’s abilities and use a bootleg lightsaber of his own. What a waste… Also, I feel like they just picked a bad opponent for Metal Sonic in general. There is another character in the Mega Man series known as Bass, who has a few more thematic parallels to Metal than Zero does. Overall, the episode was okay. But I feel it could have been better.

it is not so much that metal sonic wants to take over the world more like he was programed to follow robotnic & over time started to hate robotnic to the point that he broke away from robotnics controle & now was against both robotnic & sonic. Just wanting them both gone. Not thinking so much about what to do after that as he never killed sonic or robotnic that I know of, he just wanted them out of his life but yet he was still programed to attack sonic & sonic was still fighting with robotnic, so robotnic would get in the way & the 3 would fight in a way regardless of Metal's programing. He was programed to be a slave to robotnic, in a way, so after breaking this programing & breaking free he wanted to be a master of something with out knowing what

I'm going to go with Protaginist hair Zero... But I know Quickman was DESIGNED to be as fast as light, he never reached that speed but he is one of the fastest in the megaman universe and they have crazy feats. Plus Megaman was able to dodge and Zero is way... way stronger and faster than Megaman. Unless you consider Megaman X but hes a different robot on par with Zero Speed kills and I dont think 26000 is fast enough

And that was one of the worst Battle animations they ever made. Like I said before, I have nothing against the research, analysis, outcome, scripting, etc., but that battle animation, yikes man. The sound design was awful and the video was janky in all sorts of ways. Oh well. At the end of the day I do agree with the outcome (since no Archie comics Metal Sonic was included… in which case it’s be a complete and total stomp the other direction, Archie Sonic world makes physics cry in the corner). Lucario vs Renamon isn’t an especially great battle nor is it bad. It’s the very definition of middle of the road or average. I know others think it’s really boring, and I can see why, but I think it’s perfectly serviceable. My only complaint about you reacting to that one is that it’ll mean delaying TJ Combo vs Balrog and that one is a strong contender for best Death Battle ever for a lot of people. :D

Just a note, this Death Battle is kinda dated. That's not Metal Sonic's top speed. In comparison to Sonic's relativistic speeds, he's a little bit above FTL, but Zero is well within FTL, so it's not blitzing speed. So this match wouldn't be different now.
