My older sister had a (then) best friend who lied about her parents being dead, too. She was adopted, but not because she was orphaned. She was surrendered by her mom who was an addict. This girl was also a kleptomaniac, stealing her coworkers’ stuff just because it was left out in her reach. Even though she had a great life with her adoptive parents and a very attentive best friend, she decided to lie about everything she thought would get her more attention. I think she may also have lied about the number of siblings she had, I’m honestly not sure because there were so many things she lied about it’s difficult to remember what was true.

I had a friend named Denis, Denis convinced one of his friends for 2 years that his mother was dead, fast forward to when Denis needed a lift to his mothers. He asked his friend (who believed she was dead) to drive him. Long story short they are no longer friends, Denis would literally cry to his friend about his mother being dead and they cried with each other. Only for all of it to be fake. Crazy people out there, stay safe and stay vigilant

I have read that his Rep said that he had been referencing the death of a mother-like figure, not his biological mother in the interview. Absolutely wild that he is trying to spin-it around. I hope he gets the help.

20:23 don't lie to a woman? Don't lie to the freaking Internet! 😂 I mean.. it's a wonder his own mom didn't say something. Wild!

i never knew any of his backstory but i loved his music, i found my own meanings in every single song, i am still going to listen to his music because it brings me great comfort and im going to pretend that i dont know any of this like i have before

You should do research on an artist before just becoming instantly obsessed because one song makes you emotional,there are a lot of con artists out there in the music industry.

Huh? No one is like "I should do a deep dive on this person's entire life before I decide if I like this song".

This happened to one of my cousins. After the baby came he completely turned and flaked. We do not even know what his real name is. He is never wanting or allowed to see their daughter ever again because he turned out to be so fake. I feel so so bad for her, she is so sweet.

What kind of an artist would fake their entire life story?
@LilRebelYell4 ай бұрын
While not an artist, Joe Biden borrowed a Welsh politician's whole family's background as miners during his aborted 1st presidential campaign. Along with being at the top of his graduation class, lying about a drunk driver killing his wife, etc.

Exactly. A real artist uses lies to tell the truth, not to lie to gain fame & money.

A lot of narcissists, you tubers and entertainers do it - anything for attention/fame and $$$.

@@P.Whitestrake Yeah, imagine in a world where people live with literally no money and they struggle for a plate of food that you could tell a bullshit story and keep lying for a few years and never have to work again and live in a mansion for the rest of your life... oh wow... why do people lie I wonder... Seriously... naivety is worse than stupidity sometimes... I've been working 12 hours a day for bullshit money, have no personal life and barely getting by... this dude just said some crap story about his family and he lives in a fucking mansion jerking off all day... We live in a fucked up world where being good and hard working is literally a punishment and you'll never see a better day in your life if you're that way...

Idk if I would still stay with a guy who say he has a fake id that says he’s younger 😂
@artzydragon7704 ай бұрын
true even that is like a huge red flag, like who is he pretending to be younger for??? 🤨

I’m not that shocked that a musician would fake a tragic back story to get attention and seem “deeper” as an artist (though it’s super disturbing morally). The real head scratcher to me is why he lied about being Australian and faking an accent-I don’t know why he didn’t think being from Brunei was interesting enough?! I had never heard of it before; I woulda thought it was really cool and unique he was from there lol.

It passes me off that someone would do this because my whole family is gone. Grandparents that raised me, gone. Father passed when I was 9. Brother(only sibling) was murdered in 2018. Both uncles gone. My mom is alive but she lives in another state and is on hospice because she's very sick. I myself have congestive heart failure. Thank God i have my children. To lie about that is spitting in the face of every person that lives it
