I had been listening to an audiobook when my guides told me to switch on the news. It was just a few minutes after the news first broke and they had the video up. I heard myself saying, out loud but without my intention “this is a set-up”. There are so many details that do not seem to fit. The young man was reported to be a bad shot and had failed to qualify for rifle club at school just 2 years ago. The Felon did not have blood on his hand when he wiped his ear before he went down, but then there was blood after he got up? And he really wanted his shoes. Who worries about their shoes when they just were shot at? And he made SURE to pump his fist for the crowd …made SURE the cameras got that shot. And finally….the next day he’s relaxing at home, playing golf. Seriously? No concern or even kind words for the victims who are still critically injured or the young family who lost their father and husband? No reaching out to them? It reeks of what his inner circle would call “dirty tricks”. It all feels wrong if this was supposed to be an actual take down. Such a tragedy. Thank you for this reading.
