Jon, I appreciate your videos, you're one of the best! How I use the line of TW Hybrid Solution products, Step 1, 2 coats of Polish/Wax, waiting 24 hours between coats. Step 2, Ceramic Spray, 2 coats waiting 24 hours between coats. Step 3, Weekly washes with ONR. Step 4, Monthly cleaning with 3 in 1 detailer. Step 5, at the 6 month mark, wash with the Hybrid Wash. Step 6, Spray on wet wax, then dry. Step 7, Spray 1 coat of ceramic spray. I first applied step 1 back in November of 2019 and now coming onto 9 months, my cars cars still have shine & protection. As you know, preparation is key, make sure your car has been strip washed, chemically & mechanically decon., before you start with step 1. I highly recommend the Hybrid line of products, because of ease of use & reasonably priced! I am not aware of another product on the market today that's works well for a non professional like me? Keep up the Great Videos!

I’ve ended up with the whole range in the end and have used for a couple of months on both our cars. Firstly I was not happy to find the wet wax and detailer do not come in the 748ml sizes that were sent to all the review channels. We only get 500ml in the UK so that’s a rip off. The polish is the stand out product for me and for a quick and very effective one step enhancement, the polish teamed up with the yellow Rupes wool pad is amazing. The spray coating is pretty good and leaves nice gloss levels. It can streak but is easily sorted by a secondary wipe with a damp cloth. To top up the protection, the wet wax is a nice product and on a car after drying, the 3 in 1 detailer is decent too. Use as a detailer and not a waterless wash. There are better SIO2 detailers though such as those from Garage Therapy and Bouncers. I find for topping up the protection, the shampoo is quite effective. It doesn’t foam up and you need a lot in the bucket but I’d use every 4th wash or so. It does give a boost to the beading. Should be very handy in the winter. I will keep using for now but in the long run I see only the polish being bought again. This is a great AIO and can give reasonable correction with the right pad. I rarely stick with the same LSP’s anyway as half the fun of detailing is trying new products. All the range has an rrp of £18 but Amazon sell for £14.

Great review, I used their polish and did the whole car as a first attempt at machine polishing. It did improve and enhance. Followed up with the ceramic spray, that was in April and it still is beading. Didn't go for the shampoo, expensive and Bilt Hamber and GT one do a better job, IMO. Thanks for a great channel!

Hi Jon, Love your informative reviews, down to earth and always worth watching. Surprised people in the comments are having problems with the hybrid solutions line. I had nothing but success using their ceramic spray coating and ceramic wet wax. No streaking whatsoever. With the ceramic spray coating, use 1-2 sprays per panel, nothing more!! With wet wax, I’m generous apply 3-5 sprays per panel and it cures very rapidly in just 2 wipes. More user friendly than using the meguiars hybrid ceramic line as of far. In one of my cars I have 8 months going strong with the ceramic spray coating and topping off with ceramic wet wax every other wash, and beading is like Day 1. In my other car, the ceramic spray coating is going strong as well using meguiars hybrid ceramic detailer or hydro suds for topping it off.

Jon, the way I see it about the 'wash and wax' is to use it as just a top up 'wax' on a weekly wash. The polish and wax used primarily and then topped up with ceramic wet wax. So from then on you can use the wash and wax on a regular basis (or the detailer if your car is clean)

cheers Jon for this look back video. I find the product range ok but expensive. Paying 26,90€ in Finland for the wet wax which is way too expensive for my needs. The shampoo is ok but a pain in the ass to clean off if it dries in. I started off with the green bottle and it was alright, nothing really great but it did seem to give a glossy look. Protection? This is my problem with this whole range...is there protection over 6 months or is it snake oil we are been sold??
@Alans65634 жыл бұрын
Have to say Jon I find the ceramic detailer to be excellent. I always use it after I've washed and dried the car and give it a quick spray and wipe with it. Picks up any little bits I've missed and boots the shine and protection. Anyway the finish I get is fantastic! I really like it. I do have the ceramic spray (the green one) already applied underneath mind you.

I would agree that the Wet Wax is the hidden gem in this line. I’ve been a TW fan since the Ice Polish. The clear one that everyone still has at least half a bottle of lol I think that the old Hybrid line blows this new stuff out the water in terms of ease of use, value for money and results. I just did the mrs silver car from this old hybrid range, 10hrs of work, 2 coats of hybrid sealant, 1 coat of dry and shine and washed with the hybrid snow foam as a wash and wax. I use the waterless wash for the door shuts. I’m just lazy with her car and want to spend as little time possible detailing her car, and still great Decent result. I just don’t think that I could get the same value out of the ceramics as I can get out the hybrid. Also the only iron reactive cleaner I can think of in the tw line in redline, a decent, and cheap wheel cleaner I can only hope that they continue building on the success

Thanks for going to the trouble of thoroughly reviewing all these products. I need your advice again. I’m picking up a brand new car next week and I want to protect it with Turtle Wax ceramic products. Typically, it’s pissing down the day I collect it. When it’s stoped raining, I planned on giving it a thorough safe wash as you’ve demonstrated on another video, clay bar and further wash. But because we have hard water where I live, it’s impossible to avoid water spots when drying. So, I want to know if it would be a good idea to use the ceramic polish and wax by hand to remove the water spots, wait 24 hours then use the ceramic spray. My plan would be to maintain the protection over summer (Australia) by none contact washing and using ceramic wet wax to dry. Or is polishing a new car excessive?would you recommend using the detailer spray to remove the watermarks instead? Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

Enjoyed that video apart for a lot of it being out of focus. Don't know what camera you're using but Sony have just released the A7S III which is rumoured to be very good. I must try your idea of putting the Ceramic Spray Coating onto a wet applicator first. My use of that on a Sonic Grey FK8 seems to leave a bit of a haze that takes a fair bit of buffing (elbow grease) to get rid of it and that is done in my garage. I could not agree with you more in that TW need to be a One Stop shop for all your car detailing. I fancy giving the shampoo a try though.

Bought the wet wax in store just to try out one of the products in this line. I'm usually covered in all other areas by products from meguiars, autoglym, angelwax and carchem etc, so i have som references to a bunch of brands. Must say have to agree on the wet wax working surprisingly well, leaving a slick finish and added reasonable amounts of gloss on a car with a very difficult colour (VW Tungsten silver) So i will hold on to that bottle. Fully in par with meguiars ultimate quick wax (so far)

agree Jon, Dry & Shine & Sealant Wax are good, and less than £8 per bottle, the Ceramic ones are £18 or so per bottle, and i find Meg's HCD gives better finish stage and good for topping up TW Sealant Wax and around £15-16, lasts for months. TW Wash & Wax or Meg's Ultimate Wash & Wax are the best, but Meg's is twice the cost of the TW, which is about £7-8.

if they built a line to cater for what I wanted they would probably go out of business :) this ties in with the point that ultimately TW have been the largest detailing brand on the planet since the dawn of detailing products, and they have learnt what sells and what does not. this maybe doesnt align with the detailing scene view of products that I have. But should you be a small niche scene brands or a brand that aims to serve a wider huge market. We would all go for the later wouldnt we.

My favorite of turtle wax hybrid is the 3 in 1 detailer !. It is very good on dust and avoid scratching the clear coat!. The ceramic spray coating makes too many streaks without use with a damp microfiber! And for the hydrophobic effect I much prefer Meguiar's hybrid ceramic detailer (this is only my opinion!)
@SuperVitz4 жыл бұрын
I think TW sits in a different space to what you were asking for, I think their main customer base is the less experienced. They won't buy a good concentrate APC, and if they did they'd be disappointed and would complain. I think the Hybrid Solutions is a good middle ground between "prosumer" and "chappy who walked into Halfords and wants to 'buff his car'".
@steverabbits4 жыл бұрын
'Turtle Wax are dividing opinions, some will love it and some will hate it' and some Jon (me!) are just confused by it all. I will stick to my BH shampoo and also won't use the TW 3 in 1 detailer, I think I'd rather stick with ONR as a rinseless wash than use a waterless wash. I'm not convinced instant detailers are safe tbh. So I've machine polished my car, the paint is bare, is this the time to use the TW ceramic wax spray coating (green flashed bottle)? Then use the TW wet spray car wax (gold flashed bottle) as a drying aid to add more siO2 when I wash it in future? The TW ceramic polish and wax (red flashed bottle) is an AIO polish for my sister's car where I don't have time to do a full correction yes? Can it be used with a DA machine? And to top it all off they do versions of some of these items for black cars. Jeeze it's no wonder the world is in turmoil! 12:45 you are bang on the money here in my view Jon. If just one company could get this right it would be a Godsend. Better still if all companies could do exactly that life would be so much simpler, you could just find your favourite range and say 'I'm a BH man, or Autoglym or Meguiars etc etc and buy their range where everything dovetails perfectly into each other and works spankingly as an integrated system, wouldn't life be wonderful! So many companies, too many categories and waaaaay too many products. Back in my day in sales and marketing we used to call it 'confusion marketing' because we knew it sold us more products. It's still alive and well in the detailing industry 🤬

Great video, I just got some tw ceramic spray coating. Just wondering when you mention about heat, what temperature do you mean? Some people say 35c is a nice summers day, while others think 15c is too hot.
@ForensicDetailing4 жыл бұрын
if the sun is out and you touch your car and it even feels slightly warm, this creates problems. its because your literally atomising product onto the car and the tiny trace elements of water can vaporise instantly leaving you with no carrier and product that will insta streak. so if sun is out be carefull.. and the hotter it is be even more carefull. Above 25-30 deg I would not wash the car.

I wouldn't highly recommend that - it won't do any harm but if you think about what the product does, you spray it onto a WET panel which is already diluting it... So if you dilute it beforehand, your doubling up on that dilution, thus making the product (potentially) much less effective.

How would you say these products stack up against Maguires ceramic lineup. If you only had to choice one which one word it be?
@ForensicDetailing3 жыл бұрын
Turtle wax seems to win on durability, potency, like they load these products up with active ingredients. They try and make them the longest lasting on the market. This can make them a bit harder to use like the ceramic spray. But tbh you would have to do a product by product comparison. I can says ceramic wet wax, cermaic spray and the ceramic polish are 3 classy products that perform well. The 3in1 detailer and the ceramic wash product Im not so in love with. Meguiars historically tend to be more about ease of use with lower durability with their ultimate wax and ultimate liquid wax etc.. meguiars new hybrid ceramic wax though is also pretty powerfull but a bit prone to streaking with its application, but their hybrid quick detailer I found superb. And meguiars M205 and 105 are still top draw abrasives even buy todays standard. TW have some of the best spray waxes on the market. Meguiars perhaps more credible in the pure abrasive catagory. hope that helps.

IMHO i would never use a wax/SIO based shampoo, better off using something like a Meguiars soft gel ,which is just a mild shampoo which gets rid of the dust and mild dirt which is on the car with the proper shampoo dispenser ,then rinse with hi pressure water and then apply the SIO based ceramic spray on sealants and if the cars surface is only mildly dirty, i use a quick detailer and then a dedicated SIO2 Detailer or spray on ceramic coating. I guess its out each person to use what ever they think works for them? also noticed that there's no new formula yellow added sticker on the bottles,which i would say its a kit you buy, but i know depending on where you live they have different bottles and labels, still the same products just different labels that's all? Also seen a test's done on the spray on SIO2 based turtle wax product on youtube and it outlasted most of the competitors spray on SIO2 based sealants, so my next buy will be either nova jet and laser or turtle wax's SIO2 based spray on sealant? cheers and keep up the great work your doing. 🏎🏎🏎👍🙌✌👌😊

@@DavidC1 you're saying that as if the KZbinrs themselves won't give an honest review, which may be the case for some, but certainly not the majority... The successful channels like Jon's, Paul Dolden, Specky to name a few are successful BECAUSE they're honest in the criticism and to imply that they'd back a brand because they sent them a nice big box of products is a bit unfair in my opinion!

He actually nailed why Turtle failed for me. The 24 h waiting period on the product. The ceramic spray was an pain with streaking, even if you used an damp towel and made sure you don’t use to much. The durability is very good , the ease of use is an total failure. Not gonna buy any of this again, before they fix this.
@ForensicDetailing4 жыл бұрын
its interesting isnt it. the misconception with Turtle wax is the products might be perhaps less premium or less potent. The reality is they are trying to make highly durable, high performing products. When you try to max out durability products tend to become harder to use. I dont find the ceramic spray difficult though. its all about forming a film with it first. if you do that it cant streak.
@-Kenneth-91614 жыл бұрын
Forensic Detailing Channel tnx for your response. To be more specific. You have to make sure it does not rain when you apply the Ceramic coating spray. If you don’t have an garage, good luck with that with overnight humidity etc. also if you only have 1 car and need to use it, you struggle with this. 2 point you get this transfer to windows, that’s an dust, streak collector. Other sprays on the market you get to use it on the entire car, no cure time and instant protection. My point is, the steps needed to make this work optimal is in many cases not competable with every day life and use of the car. Or should we say, not everyone have 2 cars and an garage.

@ForensicDetailing4 жыл бұрын
depends what you mean by falling behind. they sell the most detailing products globally and the gap is getting bigger not smaller. comes down to the point I made about we do not understand what selling car cleaning products is really about (me, you anyone) compared to how TW understand it from doing it for 100 years.
@flemmingjensen32024 жыл бұрын
Let's be honest, the vast majority of car owners just want a clean car and have one or two hours to wash and, maybe, wax it. Then they think "uuh shiny" and all is well. I think that's the key selling points to the masses, fast and shiny. And then there's us, the last 5-10% car nerds. 😉

@ForensicDetailing4 жыл бұрын
depends what you mean by ceramic. Do you mean, pottery? Sand? Do you mean liquid inorganic silazane. liquid inorganic silazane isnt really ceramic either, its silicon and nitrogen based, and this was just the backbone of most gen 1 coatings. other resins are used now. You can literally call anything ceramic because the term was adopted to coatings because of the silicon element and the fact the coatings were deemed to set like glass. But they are not Silica based either in fact they dont even fall into the SI02 catagory. Coatings are made from speciality resins, there is nothing ceramic about them. The adoption of water miscible forms of Si-material came from the far east and the first few companies that made water based Si sprays also used the same catagorisation (ceramic, si02, quartz, silica) in the various guises of the products. So you have to be consistent if you are upset about TW using the word ceramic or SI02 for water based forms of SI-material then you have to be upset with the whole industry and the people that invented them and brought them to market. Im playing devils advocate because I have also critised companies for calling stuff ceramic. I believe there should be industry standards and "ceramic" should only refer to the speciality resins, we typically buy in glass bottles, which alter their state to a rock hard crystalline like material. but even that definition wouldnt be 100% appropriate.
@audiovideotech97774 жыл бұрын
@@ForensicDetailing Im talking about it not having SiC (Silica Carbide) content. SiO2 is Quartz but not Ceramic but you know that. You are correct, there should be standards but companies are out to make money and capitalize on the coating craze even if they have to falsely market products to uneducated DIY'ers and detailers. Fortunately for me, I've been using coatings since 2007 here in the US and thats I do. Love your videos btw.
@ForensicDetailing4 жыл бұрын
@@audiovideotech9777 the vast majority of the first generation ceramic coatings dont have silica carbide in them. Are they not ceramic? Is the definition of a ceramic coating based on it having SiC? that would cause even more chaos.
@audiovideotech97774 жыл бұрын
@@ForensicDetailing true...the vast majority of Coating's are actually just Quartz (Si02 or TiO2 added) and not really Ceramic (SiC) because of Silica Carbide being so expensive.
