So glad you did part of it by hand, because that’s all I’m gonna do is do it by hand. I got a brand new car in January. I’m going to use the Adams clay mitt first, hand polish and then use the hybrid solutions flex wax.

Flex wax is a great product, just make sure you leave the polish to cure for 24 hours before topping it with the wax.

On a brand new pad you want to Prime the entire surface but very very thinly. After you do a roughly 2-foot by 2-foot section remove your product with a terry cloth towel or spur wheel, just a small circle or three small pea-sized dots. This will keep you from overloading the pad with product. Overall you did a great job!!!

I'm back, REALLY enjoyed the video. My 2 cents on the wetness factor? Yes, i agree a little too much but that's a good thing imo. I used something else recently that flashed off way to quick and turned to dust. On the other hand, another one of turtles, is like milk....BUT you can work that for a long time. It also made in between pad cleaning fairly simple. Looking forward to the next installment. If anyone from Turtle watches this, aussies would like to partake in the goodness too ya know. An estimate of release date of 6 - 12 months is NOT good enough.

Thanks so much. I think beginners wouldn't be so happy using too little but overloading the pad shows that it still works and removes well. I think that's the sign of a quality product. Hope you guys down under get them soon! 🤞

Enjoyable informative video which I watched half way through doing my FK8 Type R. I washed it, removed the tar spots, clayed it then went over it with TW Ceramic Polish & Wax but didn't use a paint cleaner, so I hope the results will still be good. The last coating was TW Hydrophobic Sealant and I've had the car from new. Just about all the videos I see, are doing a flat surface like the bonnet. I'd like to see a car being detailed round all the nooks & crannies, of which there are plenty on the FK8. What tools would they use? This is the first time I have used Autoglym Perfect Polish applicators and the fact that they are not circular, makes it a bit easier for the tight spots. I'll finish the "Beast" off after 24 hours with TW Ceramic Spray and future freshen ups.
@SpeckyMcSporran
@SpeckyMcSporran 4 жыл бұрын
I know what you mean, modern cars are so much more difficult to clean and polish with all the crazy angles. It's certainly something worth considering for a future video. I hope the "beast" comes out looking good. For future maintenance you might like to try their Ceramic Detailing Spray or Ceramic Wet Wax. 👍

I really like the new Turtle Wax Products. But not the Hybrid Ceramic Wax(non black version). I completed my 2019 Honda Ridgeline. I first thoroughly cleaned the truck. I polished with 5" rotary, using blue foam pad, and using Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic Polish&Wax. This worked nicely for application, clean-off, and swirl removal. I waited a few days and applied the Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic Wax. This I didn't like! Apply and wiping off left light&dark streaking, uneven. I had to wipe down with a damp microfiber cloth and immediately with a dry microfiber. I have used the TW ICE Wax and Detailing on my Corvette. Works easily, and has the shine. I will not buy the TW Ceramic Wax or Detailer again!

Good vid as always, good info and your impressions of using and results in there. I feel you pain, I did hand polishes on car for 6 years before I started with DAs. What polisher were you using here, as well as what was your pad choice? Typically All-In-One(AIO) products as very dependant on pad choice, as to what cut and finish you do get from them. Also your technique on the polisher was more suited to a Forced Rotation DA (Flex 3401), as an enhancement rather than a true correction, but if your not bothered about perfecting the paint... 24hrs cure time before waxing though, probably not one I'd use in the real world due to the cure time, but the price is comparable to other polishes on the market and very cheap for a ceramic infused one. I;m aslo interested in how the entire system works, and what results it offers :) Keep up the good work
@SpeckyMcSporran
@SpeckyMcSporran 4 жыл бұрын
I don't usually rely on AIOs to correct paint, I'll use dedicated compounds and polishes for that. AIO is all about enhancement and this certainly does that. I was just using a basic DA from Argos with a soft polishing pad from SPTA. True, it's cheaper than many other ceramic polishes but the cure time may put people off. It has more protection than many other AIOs so might be a better choice for long term care of a car when combined with the ceramic spray coating.

@SpeckyMcSporran
@SpeckyMcSporran 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, but if I make the mistake of overloading the product and it still works well and comes off easily then it's a very forgiving product. And if I can make that mistake then other can too. That's why I approach these reviews as a novice and not like a pro.
@BrianW1612
@BrianW1612 4 жыл бұрын
Agreed on this. 3 pea sized blobs is plenty. Not taking into account the depth of the product applied when you go with 4 'dime' sized blobs. Good video though and from what I seen although the cut isn't overly aggressive, this has a very long working time which coupled with the non diminishing abrasives allows you to get good cut with several passes, along with a good finish.

@SpeckyMcSporran
@SpeckyMcSporran 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Steven. It is runny so make sure to use less than I did. It has lots of protection built in but I'd use it as a base layer and apply their Ceramic Spray Coating over the top. Two coats are apparently enough for 12 months of protection which is designed to bond to the polish layer. If you want to save money then I'm sure you could use their Sealant Hydrophobic Wax instead.

@@SpeckyMcSporran I've been using SRP for several years as part of my regimen, following proper decontamination and clay. I like that it's easy to use either by hand or machine and the fact that it provides a good foundation for my preferred sealant, Fusso Coat. I'm not sure if I would use Fusso over this as TW is a ceramic base and I would keep products within their families. @@JWL-UK Fusso is designed to bond directly to the clear coat, so probably not suitable in this case. @@peemick the only SiO2 I use is Bouncer's Done and Dusted Si Edition. My preferred combo remains as SRP to clean/exfoliate the paint then Fusso and BSD as a topper/drying aid. I noticed that with careful maintenance wash, BSD as a topper and using an iron remover every 4-6 months, I could not justify doing a full detail again this year and pushed it to Spring - the continues to look great!
