Greetings from Medellin! Thank you for all your hard work creating videos; I think I've watched all of them. I am near you for two weeks and am having so much fun. I was here 41 years ago as an exchange student so seeing my second family again is #1 on my bucket list. You've added so much to my visit from "no da papaya" to don't mention Pablo! Best wishes in Italy and yes, family is the most important part of life. Cheers

June 16, 2024 . Having resided in Medellin for three years, the last year seems to have seen a spike in crime. While sitting at Suramerica Metro, having a tinto. Street guy approaches begging for a cigarette...refused. Street guy wants to swap a pair of scissors (10,000cop?)...i refuse, he grabs my umbrella, threatens me with the shears. I recover the umbrella, start walking stairs into metro station...street guy attempts to kick my feet from under me. Bystanders have called the police. Street guy exits the scene...police arrive, 15 minutes later. Cruise the area...nothing. One week later having another tinto, different location...street guy is now paying for his own tinto AND cigarette. See's me...departs. Police can't seem to locate this guy...same neighborhood. Funny...peculair...paranoia?

@brawndothethirstmutilator98482 жыл бұрын
vivahernando1, Funny comeback. I laughed. Spelling it with a “u” is actually not incorrect when communicating in English. In German it’s “Kolumbien”. Are you telling Germans how they have to spell the name of your country in their language? Similarly, when communicating in English, “Bogotá” doesn’t get a diacritic mark and is spelled “Bogota”. You can find evidence of this convention of the country being spelled “Columbia” in English in old maps from the time of “Grand Columbia”. It’s also “Columbus” not “Colón” in English (and by the way Colón was not Christopher’s given surname because he was not a Spaniard). The moment Spanish speakers stop spelling it “Alemania” and start spelling it “Deutschland” or start spelling it “Catalunya” then you can talk. Until then, respect each language’s right to translate the names of places into a form that agrees with phonetics and history of their language. No seas tan mezquino, chabón.

OK, ... Sabaneta is now a county like queens is a county of new york city, ... likewise SABANETA is now a county of MEDELLIN the most innovative city in the world, .. .. .. Sabaneta is actually a very wealthy area of the city of Medellin, .. actually there is no poverty at all in Sabaneta, ... very important, .. .. sabaneta is now part of the metropolitan area of Medellin, ... but is quite by comparison to el Poblado, and Laureles, .. .. Well I guess brains aren't your strong point, eh? If they said where they lived it might negatively impact there business because Sabaneta is not Medellin, it is a separate municipality. Also it is one thing to tell your friends and family where you live but the internet not so much. Their business was selling Medellin.

@@thecatvirusgotme889 Me? He accused Sam of hiding their residence because of safety, Colombia is a very safe if you practice common sense. I believe this couple wanted privacy so they chose to not include the area they live in. Also they did not want to show favoritism to one part of Medellin over another for business reasons, privacy and safety are not the same. People in the public eye should always keep certain things out of the public domain. I love Sabaneta it is delightful I would recommend it for anyone looking for a nice and tranquil experience. A great choice for someone retired but I do think it requires the ability to be a least half fluent Spanish.
