I worked in a shipyard building submarines in the 80’s. The subs were 560 feet long and 50 feet in diameter. They had a shackle used to gather all the cables used when lifting the back half of the boat to fit it to the front half. That shackle was 20feet in diameter. The bolt that screwed into it was 7 feet thick. They need a small tender crane just to lift the shackle.

-THATS GONNA RUST- Not to crap on that fancy trailer but a good thing to know about stainless is that those brown/blueish heat tint spots left after the welds are oxidation. Allthough it can look cool these areas have lost all their stainless properties and will rust, propably quicker with the oxidizing nature of fertilizer aswell. To remedy this you need to either buff it off with a scotchbrite pad on a grinder tool or apply a special acid you rince off with water (quite nasty stuff but weldersuppliers carry it). It has to be done everywhere the oxides are present. Im quite surprised the manufacturer havent done this on such a expensive product. Thought it could be good to know :) //Another big Swede who has worked alot with welding and building with stainless steel.

Such a different landscape on the other side of the world. Your snow covered ground. I'd always imagined you would be snowed in, under or surrounded, whatever snow does in Minnesota. Maybe latter in the winter months. I have not seen snow. Frost at the most in June/July but atm it's been a bit cool for summer ith only just intot he late 20's and occasionally 30 to 35 degrees Celsius. Waiting on the good summer temp of 35 to 40. Enjoy

If you have them, fluorescent light ballasts can make that smell when they begin to fail. Usually the tubes will go dim or not light at the same time. The ballast will be very hot also. Just a thought...
@edp9743
@edp9743 2 жыл бұрын
The burning smell might be a florescent light ballast going out, older ballasts that are not thermolly protected will cook themselves. Another way to check is to feel the face of the circuit breakers in the panel with your hand, overloads can produce heat in the breakers but will not trip breakers at times. Or Toby and Dugo could have taco bell syndrome
@douglascampbell9809
@douglascampbell9809 2 жыл бұрын
I've also seen the light ballast thing happen when I worked at a printing press. We came into the pressroom and all you could smell was burnt wiring. Needless to say every machine in there was electric with motors the size of small chest freezers so everyone was on the hunt for the culprit to make sure we didn't burn out something expensive.
