A sterling effort from Jackman and yourself trying your hardest to get the car up and ready for the effort. Like you mention it’s not worth risking anything at this stage. Work through the list of things it might be and you’ll have it running right in time for the next show. Those wheels have cleaned up a treat.

It's so close now which is great. The carb will hope fix the running issue and then can start driving places.

Not really a failure, more of a deferred success :D It's good to see an early flat-front 240 still in circulation.

A slightly later success, but a real good effort. Glad it's been saved. My 1986 740GLE had the chrome hub and rim rings. Gave them for my dads 244 and I fitted Virgo alloys on my 740.

Good episode. Well done with the brakes. I’m not sure about changing to a Weber carburettor, that is a pretty expensive solution and will still need a load of tuning. The it would probably be quicker and much cheaper to sort out the Stromberg you have - they are pretty simple instruments. You have done a ton of work this week, well done. You have come so close to sorting it out, don’t over think this project- 240s are very simple. Good fortune. Alan

The brakes are great now. I guess it’s a slight upgrade with the carb. Obviously Jackman’s choice and I am sure it will go well. We will keep you all posted of the next steps. The more we work on the 240’s on this channel the more we love how they are put together.
