For the clicking issue I’d say try a higher quality lubricant/oil. Could be to cold for that oil to remain viscous enough
@davidbilbrough372615 сағат бұрын
Yes! You did the right thing. We had a day decoying geese where we hed 6 each and decided that was enough and started to pack in. While we took down the hide and picked up the decoys they still piled into the field. I use GT85 bike chain spray for all my guns as it dries out only leaving a non sticky coat of PTFE.

Have you tried cleaning the bolt assembly internals. I had the same issue last year with my retay mm20. I cleaned my gun over and over and the click issue was still there. I was getting light primer strikes. Every time i would come up on a bird, it would just click. Took the bolt assembly apart, give it a good clean, reassemble, and the gun hasn't clicked since. Give it a try if you haven't disassembled the bolt yet.

been some huge flocks of geese flying in west central MN(more to the SW end of that area)Just across the MN river to the south ... hour or so from SD) Sometimes watching them fly and feed is better than the shooting... I watched 6 does feed 20 feet from the tree I was leaning against. I stayed still and was downwind and they fed right up to me. I could have taken one but it was 1st day of the season and it was more fun to watch them up close!

Jon, not shooting and just watching the big "Wads" of ducks was the right call. I was able to watch a similar show put on by several thousand sprig landing all around our blinds, and no shots were fired. Really enjoyed your Canadian goose and duck videos!

It's a personal judgement call, and I agree with your decision. Now, as for the gun clicks.... gun is clean, can you remove and disassemble the bolt to clean the firing pin hole and spring? Also, are the clicks on live shells or not ejecting? If on live shells, what does the primer strike look like, if it is getting a good dimple, contact Remington and see if they have had any other issues reported with their ammo.

If I lived in the central flyway, I would have no problem passing on stuff like that, definitely a good call. But I live on the east coast and I get to hunt the central flyway once per year if I'm lucky!

So do you shoot a benelli if so there’s the benelli bump which I’ve saw you click once on the same type of thing which is the benelli bump where if you getting up you hit your lever on your chamber sitting up out of the layout you’ll click it’s a safety mechanism in the gun.

So do you think if you'd have setup where all the ducks were landing, you would have had that action instead of just watching? Always the question eh? Where in this vast field do we setup? Did you find fresh poop or feathers or how did you decide where you setup? As for the ethical question, I'm sure it was MUCH easier to watch because you've been banging for 2 weeks. If you had not had great hunts throughout the weeks, would you still just sit and watch?? THERE's a question for ya? We'd all like to think we'd make the same decision but it'd be much tougher eh?

Great footage !!!! I think y’all had an awesome adventure. Seen some amazing waterfowl events. Large limits of snows. Ducks groups same size as black birds. Helping the tribes with their food needs. That’s what hunting is about imo. Thanks for filming it. Did the gun ever get to working?? What happened, y’all figure it out?

Spot on call! You don't take pot shots at game, no matter what it is, if you aren't sure you will kill it ethically. I don't care what it is. Deer, Waterfowl, even rabbits. I would have been happy to just watch the show. Come on! You are in Saskatchewan. There will be more tomorrow, I'm sure.

Really? Telling folks you’re Saskatchewan ruins the hunting? Only 252,00 sq. miles in the province, so pretty sure you could lock down this field. Guarantee there are more hunters in Arkansas for the opener than are in Saskatchewan now.

It over crowded every place DW! IT DON'T MATTER! maybe you could hide yourself better in your blind or layout! Maybe setting your deek's right do the trick. Also They don't get shot at like you think in Canada. They get blasted way more in America. They Also have better harvest limits. Than here.
