I think you hit the nail on the head when you say not to speak Lashon Hara about the Land of Israel. Our Parsha shows us this and we are still experiencing the same Chet Hamiraglim even today in various forms…people continue to badmouth Israel in the Diaspora. BH' yes, my parents always welcomed others' opinions and others before asking me as their own child. Like political nations that invite other nations into their homes without regard for their own sanctity of their own children, blind to their own children and their needs, looking outside for redemption and public opinion for approval, not G-ds !
