That looks AMAZING! One tip: make sure it dries out 100% between uses. Mold and mildew ruined our tent because of a hasty departure after a rain and my own procrastination.

Love it when I was a teenager we used to go camping in the high country (Australia) and used a roof top tent. Being off the ground limits the wildlife that would want to share our bed😊

What a cool thing Jamie! Love that you got a good deal on it and I have no douubt you will enjoy and use it. Fascinating thinking about the engineering behind it - I assume it has great foundation reinforcement to minimize the impact on the Jeep's roof and frame, while at the same time balancing weight load to offset loss of fuel efficiency. I’m very very jealous! How much fun are you going to have! Summer camping with the jeep and winter camping in the van! Can you arrange the seats in the van to make a bed? My dad did that and he figured out how to accommodate our family of seven in one! We travelled throughout the United States during the summers for several years. [My parents were teachers and had summers off]. Some of the best memories of my childhood were sleeping and traveling in that van ❤

Ohhh, I love the tent! Very cool, great for traveling! You can stay wherever you want, how long you want and it looks like you can put it up quicker than a normal tent. And if the weather gets really stormy or crappy you can hop in the car. 😊

I think this was a great idea. I know Sherpa or any dog could not have gotten up there. I think he could have stayed inside the Jeep while you were above him 😁! You can use this many times and if you ever get another companion they can still go on adventures with you. 😊❤ So happy you are keeping Sherpa’s channel alive and well and that the rest of us have been able to come along on all the ups and downs with you. ❤

That's such a cool idea. It has added benefit of height so you can explore your love of wildlife and observe all the various critters on your travels. You could even have a practice campout one evening in your driveway, and observe the critters that come visiting during the night - and maybe even the stars with your telescope :)
