@@julianmcmillan2867 Afrikaner in the past was already very arabized, that was the language's past. So much so that it went from the Arabic alphabet to the Latin to find itself again with Dutch, which is its mother and source language. Present-day Afrikaner already has a diluted and convalescent Arabic influence. The Afrikaans of the future will be an desarabized language because the Dutch current is strong in the language and is pushing the language towards this future stage. Perhaps future generations will see our conversation materialize, let time run its course and do its work. That is not "Afrikaans" it is boers, or whatever you like. It is an european language and not an african one. Europeans would like to replace real Africans as they did for Indian in America, Australia, Canada, etc.

It was called Afrikaans Nederlands or African Dutch hence Afrikaans is short.

@@healingsoulspiritandbody it was referred to as Afrikaans Nederlands or African Dutch due to it being the variant spoken in Africa not due to originating from Africa.

This video is about as bad as it can get. Afrikaans is a derivative from DUTCH, not from Deutsch (note the e and the s). Dutch is the language mainly spoken in The Netherlands, Belgium, Surinam, Aruba, Curacao and St-Maarten. Deutsch is mainly spoken in Germany, Austria and Switserland. While Dutch and Deutsch are close relatives in the family of languages, they're not the same and the differences between Afrikaans and Deutsch are large! Dunning - Kruger video!
