As for the villains of Metal Gear been "a bunch of goodballs" in MGS3 all 3 of them (Zero, Para-Medic and Sigint) already showed a level of mania and shadowy behaviour in their respective fields which planted the seeds that would lead to their desire to use their knowledge and influence to control people's lives and in turn the entire World. MGS3 Zero was obsessed with spionage and the control of information becoming the head of the Patriots, MGS3 Para-Medic was obsessed with genetics and creation of "supersoldiers" leading to the cloning of Big Boss and her research on gene therapy and MGS3 Sigint was all about weaponry and the US military superiority over foreign nations leading to his creation of the Patriots's AIs and his staunch belief in nuclear deterrence. All 3 characters were FAR from "goofballs" to fit you're interpretation of their descent into villainy.

She never turns evil. She's just doing genetic experiments and working toward the goal that Zero had set. It's all gray area. Gray Fox was a biomort, like Solidus in MGS4. We don't know how or when his mind began to recover or if it wasn't just a trick of nanomachine programming.

I mean she kind of hinted in mgs3 she was going to experiment on big boss' body. There was a codec call in which she found out that naked snake took part in the bikini atoll experiments. She didn't know he was already infertile from it, and jokingly said that he should think about leaving offspring soon. And then proceeded to talk about genes and how the genes of the greatest soldier should definetely be passed on so they can have an army of "greatest soldiers". I'm not saying it kinda breaks the 4th wall, but it kinda breaks the 4th wall.

I always assume all lore isn't final, and that character statements can be lies or even the character themselves may believe something untrue to be fact and might spread that untrue statement to others who in turn also believe it to be fact, there's actually a lot of lore like this in Sci-fi and fantasy, if you have a good imagination, it's easy to legitimize retcons, especially in kojima games because you know if he ever got wind of this that kojimas already got a pretty good idea of how to turn that retcon into a non-retcon just by creating a few twists the audience would have never thought of, and its honestly fun as hell thinking of all the ways kojima would have fixed this retcon if he still worked for konami.

Naomi is lying in most of the codec calls. The master plan to wipe out Zero's allies was realized in 2005 during the Shadow Moses incident. Gray Fox killing Clarke likely happened very recently under the orders of Eva and Ocelot.

We didn't see Dr. Clark's death... but then again didn't see her survival. Remember that Gray Fox was kept drugged for quite long and went insane. And the lab was blown up. Wouldn't be suprised if during his frenzy Fox could just think that he killed Clark or created situation when he was sure he did, but in reality he didn't. Or possibly it can be another "fiddle" scenario.

Hmmm.... I've got a very simple solution! Dr. Clark is Mr. AND Mrs. Clark. After operation Snake Eater, Mrs. Clark was solely operating with Les Infant Terribles and alongside Big Boss...but her husband was working behind the scenes more exclusively with the Patriots. He's the head of trying to bring old Frank back, all in the name of building the better soldier... Mrs. Clark goes along with it all b/c she believes in the pursuit of science saving lives. Two years before Shadow Moses Naomi was working under Mr. Clark and she helps Frank break out and destroy the lab. Mrs. Clark was able to evade death but was on the run for two years...Frank eventually catches up to her (working on perfecting genome therapy on the soldiers in Shadow Moses). Once he confirms her death with Naomi, she tells him to flee, but then he learns Solid Snake is at Shadow Moses?! Upon learning this, he reaches out to his old friend...MGS1

My headcanon is that Para-Medic thought Grey Fox was braindead, so it would be okay to experiment on him. She would talk to him about movies (in the same way people might talk to a pet or a house plant). Frank couldn't ask her to stop talking, he eventually snapped after four years of putting up with it.

My Thoughts: 1.) The "mistake" wasn't a mistake. Naomi flat out lied about when Clark was killed. Miller/Liquid flat out stated & called her on that. She was also caught in her lies later in the game. So I always assumed she lied about that too. As to her motivations. I like to think Naomi kept, tortured, and experimented on Clark for two years the same way Clark had done to Frank. It makes sense, given what we know of her, her skills, goals, and her motivations. 2.) In regards to Dr. Clark's "retconned" gender. It's well known that the Japanese version of MGS used always used genderless pronouns in regards to them. In effect they were kept intentionally genderless. This was changed in the English localization due to a lack of such conventions among English speakers (at the time). So Paramedic being Dr. Clark wasn't a retcon, so much as the explanation for why everyone assumed she was male was.

Well we can't take Naomi's word, she also said frank died that same day, she was a spy and we can't take her word for anything, they kept frank under experiments for 4 years but it does not mean that he wasn't on active duty for the patriots for a couple more years, he might have killed her shortly before shadow Moses incident as to escape, it could be that the patriots plan was to some how let frank know that snake was going to be there, so activating those feelings that pushed him to do anything to fight him again which could also be due to the patriots programing, mgsv might actually be telling us the truth behind those words Naomi said, if she had said that frank had just escape hours ago it would have raised a diferent set of questions that might have blown her cover, she was an pawn for the patriots who staged all of shadow Moses they have been using frank for a while after the experiments I think they controlled Frank's brain 100% all the time they killed Dr. Clark right before shadow Moses and instructed Naomi to disclosed falsified information as a decoy to keep the light away from them

Doesn't have to be a rettcon. Clark's death could have been greatly exaggerated. Naomi even refers to Clark as "he", so in all likelihood, she didn't personally witness her death. Clark is described as paranoid, preventative measures aren't out of the question. If that is the case, then I'd assume that Revolver Ocolot is probably the one to have personally killed both Clark and Miller, probably because of their connections. Couldn't say exactly what clark could have been doing in those 2 years. Possible maybe that Clark was in a coma or some such from injuries sustained from the explosion. Edit: actually, now that I'm starting to remember more, Ocolot kills the DARPA chief himself too, doesn't he? He's definably the one that killed Clark, no question.

Itll be amazing to see a metal gear game made similar to gta5, where u can switch to big boss, eva and grey fox, during the Vietnam war area. I enjoy jungle warfare the most, and that's around the time president Kennedy allowed us to make special ops more prevalent such as the green beret, navy seals and seal team 6 a few years after nam. Eva disappears around that time, Big boss was a new soldier and wasn't a green beret yet, and I don't know too much about grey foxes where abouts at that time.. but the more realistic kills, the ability to switch characters, and the story line/ time line might reveal some secrets about paramedic,because paramedics were also new during the Vietnam war too.. hmmm, maybe snake night run into her if he gets injured and there is a video to watch as they meet. Still so much to add to metal gear ;)

I have my doubts we’ll get the 100% story. To really get the full story in phantom pain, you gotta dig listening to all tapes, and even then have to have prior knowledge of the rest of the series PLUS you STILL need to fill some remaining blanks yourself. Confusing, yet amazing series. I like it a lot, I’d love see all of the story play out in cutscenes, but to hunt for the info from tapes to get the bigger picture, there’s something unique and special in that

i like to think narration is the only time we can ensure truth in metal gear and we can only trust what we are told to a thin extent. good guys are bad guys, bad guys are good guys. kojima did a great job with supplying motive and ideals to characters and creating many different people using a single character by giving them a new name. I have the belief that the story is only a small portion of the game and the final message of each title tells something bigger (not that i think that belief is really disputed much lol). at the end of the day her death may just be something inevitable and unimportant compared to her story contributions.

I think it was a writing error turned on it's head. By headcanon it can only be, that she had to be secretive over the years. She worked with the CIA and faked her death probably more often than once, and reemerged as a man. Why she would keep the same name, I dunno, but from a simple writing error that's all one CAN conclude about Dr. Clark. It becomes even funnier when Huey talks to Big Boss about Clark, and he doesn't know - I know it's Venom he's talking to, but he outright knows Big Boss and fantasizes about Paz in high detail. Though that can be explained away as Venom not trusting Huey, but there is no real indication of that - so he might not shed information about that... or the brainwashing theraphy during his coma never mentioned Dr. Clark. None of the characters mentioned, btw., have any real knowledge about Clark either - they were present, but they didn't work for the CIA, and / or, didn't know a Dr. Clark worked on 2 missions with Naked Snake. (i.e.: I live around people, of course, but I don't know every single neighbor.)

A little theory. Naomi says she freed gray fox, so there is a possibility that she met dr Clark, or someone she thought was Dr Clark. This could have been a male Dr thought to be Dr Clark. Gray fox could have killed this man in 2003. Then in 2005 para medic might have actually finally been killed.

I think Konami has no idea where this series is going or if they even want to continue it. Their decisions about popular franchises they own have ranged from bad to awful, and Kojima isn't involved anymore. I doubt anyone there has the interest, dedication, or talent to make a game that works within the established timeline. Likely we'll get something with massive plotholes if we get anything at all.

Doubt they would bring her back instead of a younger and upcoming voice actress given "The Joy's" age around WW2 so i don't think it'll ever happen. PS: has Kojima genuinely said he missed working on Metal Gear...? After all the stresses the man went through making each new installment in the franchise plus his constant statements saying "this is the last Metal Gear i'm directing" i doubt he has any desire to work on another game.

@@jedaaa Lori Allen is probably too busy and too old to play a 22 year old legendary supersoldier so i just can't imagine her coming back now that she's nearing her 60s. If Kojima really said that i would have imagined he would voiced such an opinion during the release of Death Stranding and yet he didn't say anything that would suggest his willingness to make more Metal Gears with his team at Kojima Productions making me skeptical about such a statement from him. I will have to check that myself.

Would be cool if they revive her in a hipothetical rising 2 and make her a villain because she kind of created the cyborg ninjas and in the time after mgs4 those cyborgs are like the new normal soldiers for what rising told us. They could say that she fake her death to gray fox to be even more secret or something and she maybe creates a new organization similar or different to the patriots.

She could be a sympathetic and complicated villain like sam, and i mean sam is pretty evil too but you sympatise with him and we all love sam cause hes a good character and for the memes. If you start to think about it paramedic is like a reference to all the bad and good that war bring. Thanks to her people can have new lifes but a lot of other people will die because off her cyborgs. Thats just good writing. Rising 2 could be soo good if they do something like that with the story

@@renzoortiz4765 First of all the revival of Frank and his eventual transformation into a Cyborg Ninja can be considered as a "necessary evil" on her part to develop and improve the research on cybernetics so that amputees like Jack (Raiden) may be able to continue living normal lives despite having all of the limbs mutilated. Just because she carries such actions for the betterment of Humanity at large that isn't enough reason for her to become downright evil given her motivations for such deeds towards Grey Fox been ultimately good for the world and the daily human life. Second of all (and to conclude) Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and any potential sequels to it are *non canon* to the Metal Gear timeline as confirmed by Hideo Kojima himself during an interview around the time of the release of MGS5. Wether Para-Medic somehow miracously became the "badguy" for Rising Revengeance 2 it would not in any way embody the character Kojima invented back in MGS3 making your interpretation of her character inherently inaccurate to how she's depicted over the course of the canonical Metal Gear timeline.

For Me game series ended with MGS4 Peace Walker & V are just for the profits. Like Kojima team say it back in days with Konima himself. That story in MGS 4 end this universe storyline. Ather think is that Kojima was have enough with MGS games & want it to move on to ather projects. I hope when Konami will bring back MGS games then they will try to create ather chapters in that story. Like some clones & story after MGS 4. That will be super awesome! Its entirely possible, but not necessarily probable. It was a notable name they had been building up for years. plus they made specific mention to the original patriots in mgs4 and how they were killed. Dr Clark being killed by Grey Fox. It would be way too much of a coincidence and poor story telling if he just so happened to kill the doctor working on him, Dr Clark, and the patriot member, Dr Clark. The gender swap thing seems too intentional and important especially with the fact that all the way till mgsV did they bring it up. In fact the mention of it in mgsV is the entire explanation for why the gender saw confusion even existed in the lore of mgs1. Though I don't believe this idea yet, if there was some research done to figure out if there had been clues pointing towards a second doctor with untenable evidence I'd be willing to admit I was wrong.

Clark might not be dead. If she was responsible for Gray Fox, then she might also be responsible for Raiden's body having completed her experiment. I think the question lies in that Gray Fox had to struggle for his independence, being mostly controlled by the suit and finally breaking free from it by accessing his survival instinct, but Raiden just shows up with a hyper-lethal body and complete autonomy, tab paid courtesy of the Patriots, in order to aid Snake to end the Patriots? I've always thought that was a little odd. Maybe Clark has been working to end the system a lot longer than we think. It's pretty clear that if there was a choice between Big Boss and Zero, her reverence and fond memories of Big Boss makes her allegience clear just like Ocelot.

Or perhaps, could there be more to all this than we understand? Like, we fans see her as a vile piece of trash later in the timeline but is it possible everything is not as "black and white" as we're led to believe? 🧐
