When Shenmue was released, that kind of realism was the thing that made it awesome. Also Dobuita street.

One of the greatest games of all time!!!! I played through it at 15 years of age when it first came out in North America and I loved every minute of it!! I played through it again when the HD collection came out on PS4 and Xbox one getting all achievements and all trophies!! The second one I did not like as much.. The third I felt was just crap.. Maybe I’ll go back and play the second and beat it finally and then maybe beat the third as well?

This is clearly stated in the Dreamcast game manual so, yeah, I did know that. Known it since 2000. Did YOU know that Shenmue started development on the Sega Saturn and was originally going to be a Virtua Fighter RPG with that games character, Akira Yuki as the main protagonist?

I have absolutely no idea what real time weather data added to the game. Felt like Shenmue was the test of "realism Vs fun" and thankfully, fun won. I liked the game and it's sequel for its, time enough, the first one was immersive, but boy I never want to play through that again.
