I think Yzma killed Kuzko’s mom before his dad died so that Yzma could marry his dad (So that after she killed him she could be queen). His dad then proceeded to look for his wife and even sails the globe (And dies doing so). That’s just my opinion.🤷🏻‍♀️

Well, Kuzco's mother is never met in the movies or series, including flashbacks, so it's also quite possible she died in childbirth. And the fly screaming "Help Me" is a nod to the 1958 film.

Okay, so Yzma's obsession with her looks was something I picked up as a kid back when I was watching Emperor's New School. And this is why Yzma should be dead. When I was rewatching all of the Emperor's New Grove canon over the weekend, during season 2 episode 2, I couldn't help but wonder how Yzma was still alive. Cause in the Aztec and Incan cultures, the most attractive people were usually sacrificed to the Sun God. So if Yzma was really this attractive, surely she would have been sacrificed. Though after watching this video, I'm now thinking that maybe because she was apart of the Royal collective, maybe she was overlooked or 'spared'.

Since she's the Emperor's advisor I always figured she was a high priestess of some sort. It would be plausible for a religious leader to both raise the sole heir as well as rule, because in a way they already do, due to their status. Their positions being That important. Another theory is that she could've been a concubine, but I don't know if they had concubines then, or if she'd have been Kuzco's father's concubine or his grandfather's. Either way it would account for her desire to take the throne, feeling she's owed after having been married into the royal family (but since she's neither male nor produced an heir, she's considered ineligible). But if she were a royal concubine, she could raise Kuzco, especially if something had ¨happened¨ to his birth mother.

I personally like to think that Izma didn't have anything to do with the deaths of Kuzco's parents, but once she became regent, really didn't want to give up the power. It's actually a fairly common thing in history.

In another flashback from the episode with Kuzco's father, we learn that he left the boy in Yzma's care specifically, so I guess the mother must have been out of the picture at that point. It's then likely that Yzma's good relations with the royal family, allowed her to make the queen disappear without being suspected. Which then left only the Emperor, who took himself out of the picture, while on his travels.

I've always wondered what was the significance of the fly... Theory: what if Yzma turned Kuzcos mom into the fly that the spider ate? Since only animals who could talk were people who were turned into animals and since Yzma basically has almost a potion for every single animal, and/or insect. I really prefer the classic thirst for power over the insecure youth and stereotypical beauty hunger. I don't think Yzma ever sees herself as something other than beautiful and amazing, I think it's one of her best qualities, and yeah, I could see her damaging the dad's boat and/or killing Kuzco's mom (and others) in her search for power. And with access to science/magic and that determination, I would think that if "beauty"/youth was her main drive in life, she wouldn't just climb the hierarchy while putting on face masks and would actively search for something. My verdict: Yzma is a bright, determined, murderous, stylish and drama lover Slytherin.

This is the best movie ever. In seventh grade, an assignment I had was to reenact a movie scene and this is how it went: Me: "First I'll turn him into a flea, a harmless little flea. And then I'll put that flea in a box. Then I'll put that box inside another box. Then I'll mail that box to myself. And when it arrives, AHAHAHA... *I'LL SMASH IT WITH A HAMMER!!!!! Phoebe Gilliland I don’t really remember - it was for my little brother’s grade and I didn’t get to see all of it- but it was something about how at the beginning Kronk has gone to work at a restaurant like he wanted and was meant to (that was supposed to be like following Jesus) instead of working for Yzma, and how Yzma keeps trying to get him to work for him (she was the devil of the analogy) it was something about that idk but it was really funny

Im going no...my theory is that his mother died giving birth and either father left shortly after for some reason and died on the boat. he was spoiled rotten by yzma to build trust and that she was the only one he could rely on so that she could rule uncontested because he was still alive. if he had died also it would have went to the next heir and that wouldn't have worked for yzma's plan

I think it is possible that Yzma orchestrated the deaths of Kuzco's parents. She does love a good scheme. I don't think her motivations went much beyond gaining power, however. She always kept Kuzco away from any real power and was genuinely surprised when he sacked her. My guess is that Yzma planned on ruling for the rest of her life, using Kuzco as a puppet to legitimize her rule.

I actually headcannoned that a few years ago, while pitching a prequel in my head (it had Yzma as the main character/villain, her back-then henchman, Kuzco's parents and young Pacha. In the end, Kuzco's parents are killed by Yzma's magic. But I guess his father has to live cause of the series)

That's a prequel not the main movie of a franchise... Yzma is the main villain of the main movie. I'm pretty sure Disney villains have separate tiers. Villain of the first movie in a franchise is obviously top-tier. Villain only shown in a sequel or straight to DVD special Villain only shown in a prequel
