The fallacy of Calvinism is totally evident. You cannot use it as an excuse to not fulfill Jesus' mission. 1 Corinthians 9:22. There is no place for Calvinistic Que sera sera in true Christianity. Do you realise just how terrifying the responsibility we share with the Lord when it comes to the lost. If you did you would be on Kristi Bourke's channel and those of many others by all means trying to share the truth about Jesus. You can't make others believe, but you can by all means try to persuade, try to demonstrate, to seek to bring them to Christ. Let's look at the rough statistics. ChatGPT estimates that Armenian Preachers ie Wsley, Finney, Graham are responsible for about 4-5 million conversions compared with a meagre 100,000 or so to Calvinists such as Whitefield, Edwards and Spurgeon. My case rests.

@@goosieschmoo8239 God is not weak, but please get the context. God chooses to allow people real choices and bear the consequences of them. He doesn't override the ability he has given us to choose. If God is limited it is because he chooses to limit himself. Look at Jesus. He didn't ride in on a white horse and make things right, but he could have. He could have driven out the Romans with the click of his fingers. That should tell you that it would be a profound mistake to think that God is weak or limited. I believe in the omnipotence of God, but how he chooses to exercise that omnipotence should tell you something about him as well. He takes into account much more than we feeble humans do. The calvinist and determinist understanding of God is too small. But also the armenian understanding of "free will" is likewise too small. We are left to look beyond the feeble scope of these human outlooks with their less than clear picture of the way things really are. Don't put God in a box. Calvinism is a box. Aremenianism is likewise a box. The truth about God lies beyond these boxes.

This was a great conversation. I have two concerns that I’m wondering if anyone could address: 1) there was a subtle (or not so subtle) undertone of equating God’s Sovereignty with the Doctrines of Grace- when it comes to the issues of Definite Atonement and Total Depravity as understood and believed by Calvinists, how do you square that with God’s goodness? For if God predestines some men to salvation, by necessity it means that others are predestined to perdition (if we follow the logic of Calvin). Of what use then, is man’s responsibility for his sin? 2) About Dr. Lawson: the first mention of him ( and most mentions I see online) in this video seemed to suggest that he was not a genuine believer because he was involved in sinful patterns. Is the suggestion that a professing Christian who is involved in affairs (for example) is NOT a genuine believer? If so, is that a personal belief or is that scriptural?

I assume the chapter on sanctification is more comprehensive but this has me concerned. I believe the qualifier was that "we're as sanctified as God wants us to be in the moment." So He would rather is not be more holy or obedient than we are right now? We've always become just as Christlike as we should be through every trial and temptation? I could use examples of my own life but you mentioned Steve Lawson. Lawson was exactly as sanctified as God desired? He wasn't "trying" to make him more holy over the last 5 years? Your answer would be "yes" to all of the above? Not sure why we would be commended to be holy if we're always as holy as God wants us to be.

Justin, I have been thinking about you and wondering if you had comments about preachers opening their churches to politicians who are not Christians. It’s been quite upsetting. So, I came looking for my favorite KZbin Shepherd!

WILL DOES. . . . or . . . ( IT DOES NOT) With God, as With Us.

What about when Keneth Copeland walked around his church speaking in tongues(supposedly) and acting like God was speaking back to him in tongues, and acting as tho he was carrying on a conversation in tongues with God

I read the book “when God winks”. I thought it to be uplifting but not necessarily doctrine-and the title was smwhat blasphemy. It was uplifting but not necessarily Biblical. I recommended it to my daughter, but I don’t see a lot of benefits in growing more in Biblical doctrine. I have heard of God Whispers but not read this

God also doesn't ask us to. This is something I've been thinking about lately. The Almighty, the Creator, _commands._ The Father commands Jesus, according to Jesus. The Ten Commandments were not Ten Polite Requests. Jesus commands us, according to Jesus. It has begun to bother me when people say God is asking for something. I mean, cattle on a thousand hills, and all.

16:00 The Bible clearly states that only those who have THE faith can proclaim the Gospel. For me, if someone does not preach the full gospel, I wonder; is this person really saved?

I strongly recommend reading just the Bible over and over, studying it over and over. Avoid books as there will be errors because the authors are human, and if you got time to sit down and read a book, then you have time to do one better and read the Bible which is Gods word!! plus I would steer clear of any title of a book with these 2 words “God doesn’t”, as I just don’t think that is for us to determine what God does. Psalm 115:3 says God DOES whatever he pleases!!
