It's a good looking strip those Castleford lads have, they look fit and seem up for the contest, meninga certainly reminding his troops to stay alert 😅

Finding out Gerry Kershaw was reffing always devalued your match ticket

With Castleford players regularly in front of the referee and no penalties and bad decisions that when questioned a penalty was given for questioning this referee was too biased and the gap between the two sides with a fair referee would have been twice as much!

Thanks for this. Its hard to find anything other than highlights of the 1990 Kangaroo Tour.

Have to say though, I laughed when Hemmings and Stephenson kept on talking up Lee Crooks as being a thorn in the side of the Aussies. Every time he played us either in tests or in club games like this during Kangaroo tours he got his arse handed to him. 1982, 1984, 1986 and 1992 in tests plus tour games in 1982, 1986, 1990 and 1994, a dozen years of failure against the Kangaroos (he didn't get picked against these 1990 Kangaroos except this particular game). And his stints with Wests and Balmain in Sydney weren't anything to write home about really. Crooks had a 0-12 record against the Kangaroos with an average score of 8-30 against them. He was 0-8 in tests and 0-4 in Kangaroo tour games. This game was arguably the best individual performance he ever had against the Aussies.

Holden308 i bet you Shaun Edwards has a worse record against the aussies, he couldnt even crack 1st grade with Balmain, Mick Neil at 65kg was a preferred choice
@Holden3083 жыл бұрын
@@docgonzales Ginger Meggs (Neil) was a relative nobody, yet he kept Edwards at Balmain either in Reserve Grade or on the first grade bench at best. Interesting fact. Shaun Edwards was a fresh reserve for Balmain in the 1989 NSWRL Grand Final. He was one of the players that Steve Jackson carried over the line to score and win the game for Canberra.

Holden308 yeah , he actually missed him twice during Jacko's rumble, that pretty impressive. Edwards has to be the biggest myth I've seen in league, Great britain won the first game in 94 because Edwards was sent off early, a 12 man GB side were better than a 13 man side with him in it it seems.

Lee Crooks, ordinary effort. The coach saved him getting k.o'd late in the game by taking him off. It's also amusing that Stevo thought the aussies were there for the taking in the test series and the 1990 vintage was sub par

If the Australians lost their composure and they beat the crapper out of Castleford what can you say ABOUT Castleford?......Very unprofessional? or not?

May 2024 and I wathced this again but had to turn it off with 15 minutes still to go, it's hard to believe that refereeing display, truly disgraceful.

what a lousy referee, what a lousy commentary, thats the BEST I can say about these guys...I mean there shoukd be an analysis of refereeing after EVERY game at this level to weed out the incompetents.
