It was clear that Diddy had no real plans for those making the band groups. I’m surprised that Danity Kane and Day 26 had sophomore albums. It wasn’t a surprise at all that Da Band didn’t have a follow up album. If anything it was a surprise that they even had an album released. Just look at how he formatted the group. He just threw a bunch of rappers (and Sara) together for tv purposes. It was clearly for the show. The fights/drama is what kept the ratings up, not the music. And when that got stale he got rid of them smh
@MJBABYPHAT6 ай бұрын
Almost all of his artists only had one album under his label. Biggie didn't even live to see his 2nd album hit the streets. Mase might have been the only one with 2, I'm not sure..but yeah that's purpose work he did. He paid them next to nothing in the contracts, when the songs are albums making millions he was reaping it all.
@TheRealLeonardWashington6 ай бұрын
@@MJBABYPHAT yea for the most part you’re right. Carl Thomas, Black Rob, Craig Mack, G Dep (even tho that was his fault), and The Lox all only have one album under Bad Boy. 112 and Faith has the most out of all of those artists with 3 a piece. Diddy had more albums released under his name than everybody on the entire label

The game of life is not a team sport, it's a single player tournament. The ones who came into the game with good intentions like Tupac, Malcolm X, Nipsey Hussle etc ended up losing because they had too much heart and soul when that only gets you exploited by others in the desperate pursuit of winning. Guys like Diddy and Jay Z succeed and reap the benefits cause they understand the rules. You can take some but not all, you can love few but not many. If you don't play it like a conquest then you'll get trounced. Sad but true.

Right and wrong. It can be a team sport. Everybody just needs to know their role, play their position and all be on the same page. Well Dawn ( from Danity Kane ) did say that the label didn't believe in them and they wouldn't sell more than Cassie's album. CASSIE who sold on her first ( and only studio ) album first week 100,374 copies. They (Danity Kane) sold 243,000 first week and could have sold more has the lable shipped more! so I believe it! DaBand sold 203,000 first week as well!

Puff has always wanted to be the star on his label. His ego couldn’t take being overshadowed by his own artists.

I cant speak on how truthful these accusations are from women, but i can tell you that watching the original "Making The Band" as a kid made me dislike Puff. Them, Day 26 and Danity Kane had ALOT of potential and he screwed them..I want them to tell their stories
