Another bad thing: Treyarchs design philosophy when it comes to balance. They insist on nerfing several of the good guns, like the Gallo, M16 and raygun, and ignore guns that desperately need buffs like the M82 and some of the D.I.E variants

I want to give a quick, small compliment to one facet I love about your videos: the way you integrate various details about the editing process neatly into the gameplay itself. Back in the WW2 season, you'd make jokes in the form of achievements, with the sound effects and everything. In this, you've included song titles and credits in Cold War's graphical style. It's those little touches that I've always appreciated so much about your videos, and I'm glad to see that you continue to take the time to do things like that. Take care, Rizzo. all they had to do to fix the character issue is just have the voice actors say something stupid in reaction to the easter eggs. like just get Woods to go "woahhhhhh decontamination agent thats based" and have them all react to things like the box with more than just "hmm yes thats a ray gun pretty futuristic." like have adler crack a joke about his ex wife like he did in the campaign. that would give a lot of personality to the map and operators.

We see in the fire base Z poster that Sam has aether attached to her, as well as the fact she was pulled through an aether portal makes me feel like she’ll find out what happened. 27:56 Something I love about Primis Nikolai's wish of wanting to be with his beloved is the way he wants to be with her. "...if only to die by her side". He doesn't just want to be with her again. He wishes that if he had the chance to die with her together in the bombing that took her life he would have take it because in his mind living without her is more painful than a violent death such as bombing. That's why in his final moments he was happy because he could finally reunite with her in death after doing what he needed to do. That's why I am glad Primis and Ultimis are still dead because they may not have had their idea lives, they finally found an eternal peace. They traded an endless struggle for an endless rest.

Playing a bit of devils advocate here. You mention that the story is barebones and honestly I agree with you. The characters don’t really have any charm and they don’t intrigue you like Primis or the MOTD crew. But honestly I think it’s ok for Cold War to have a simple story right now. It’s pretty clear that Treyarch was trying to bring multiplayer people over to zombies. They designed zombies to be more like multiplayer so that Zombies would get more players, which is a good thing. Having a good storyline is something you should want but not something you necessarily need. Nowadays with Zombies, you can’t really have your cake and eat it too. You either have a good storyline with bad gameplay, or a good gameplay structure with bad storyline. BO4 is the perfect example of this. But honestly I think this works for Cold War and especially for Die Maschine. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk :)

In defense of the of the new HUD, the kill/point list I actually enjoy quite a bit. My main reason being that it shows every (including the vast array of new ones) point gain you get, with their specific amounts and source. And to no surprise, being the point hoarder I am (unless I'm using Healing Aura for co-op), I'm usually running Ring of Fire and Stun Grenades to get the most points per kill with melee/crits. Also if you see this Rizzo, good video!

So happy this is finally out, and you did such a good job on it! I can agree with basically every point you've made, especially with the freedom of movement and the negative of the Plaguehound's jump. All this being said, I'm incredibly hype for Firebase Z as every area and aspect they showed off in the trailer made me more and more excited. One thing that stood out to me was incredibly simple - the variety and verticality of the area displayed at approximately 44 seconds in to 48 seconds in. It looks like you'd be able to be up on those rooftop balconies along with street level and that simple idea (which seems very unremarkable) nails a vibe I really want to have in Zombies - the vibe that the world feels real and lived in, and the variety of someone down on street level fighting zombies while someone on the roofs is in their own fight is something I love, that being that there's people in their own places dealing with their own situations at the same time. Black Ops 2's Broken Earth attempted to tackle these vibes and situations, but the main time it really gets that personal itch is the little lore tidbit that Misty and Marlton were off doing their own thing and surviving, before crossing paths with Stu and Russ. Simple things like that, the chaos of being in different areas yet having a kindred fight is so exciting to me and the variety through verticality is something I've wanted them to do justice to since Die Rise.

When talking about the lack of personality from the operators I had an argument with late night gaming where he said that operators or characters having voice lines always felt awkward when in my opinion it’s something that helped the atmosphere and made the characters interesting and lovable. You play as this people and they’re reacting to stuff at the same time as you and is an extremely efficient way to do world building and I’m glad you agree with that point.

This game has gotten me back into zombies since not really playing it much at all since world at war and black ops 1! Black ops 2 , 3 , and 4 zombies just got way to convoluted and complicated to enjoy for me but this game feels more like going back to the more simple maps of older zombies modes and I personally enjoy that makes it much more enjoyable not having to have a KZbin guide video open alongside you while you play a game of zombies!

One of my favorite aspects of the new story is how many of the objects are frankensteined versions from the past. The plaguehounds are hellhounds merged with Nova crawlers. The wunderfizz has been combined with multiple perk machines. The DIE machine is the jet gun reincarnate. The idea that everything inside the dark aether has been mutating and melding together is such an awesome prospect that could be explored.
