Im Spiel, schrieb Schiller, sei der Mensch wirklich frei und nach dieser Freiheit sehne er sich. Für die Regisseurin Leonie Böhm ist das Theater ein fantastischer Ort für diese Suche nach Freiheit. Hier wird gespielt und experimentiert - und das live und gemeinsam. Leonie Böhm wählt dazu Die Räuber, das Werk, mit dem sich der junge Schiller selber das erste Mal als Theaterautor ausprobiert hat. Schillers Text erzählt von den Brüdern Franz und Karl Moor, die unter der fehlenden Anerkennung ihres Vaters leiden. Der Vater ist dabei Vieles: ein internalisierter Kritiker, Publikum, der Spiegel der Gesellschaft und ein altes Prinzip. Im Versuch sich zu emanzipieren, verlieren sich die Brüder in den Wäldern und in Gedanken. »Wozu ich mich machen will, ist meine Sache nun«, ruft Franz. Warum sollte man nicht nach eigenen Fiktionen leben? Wozu die Schranken? Wie kommen wir wieder ins Spiel? Gemeinsam mit dem Ensemble nimmt Leonie Böhm den alten Text als Material, um es selbst einmal zu versuchen, um die Seele »bei ihren geheimsten Operationen zu ertappen«. Wirkliche Nähe ohne Zwang, eigene Gesetze, keine Angst. Raus aus den Mustern, rein in die Liveness. Ganz »frei« nach Schiller.

A person is truly free, Schiller wrote, when acting, and this freedom is what everyone craves. And for director Leonie Böhm, the theatre is a fantastic place for this search for freedom. This is where we act and experiment - and it’s all live and in a group. The young Schiller tried his hand as a playwright for the first time on The Robbers, and it’s what Leonie Böhm has chosen for this search. Schiller’s play tells the story of the brothers Franz and Karl Moor, who suffer because of their father’s lack of acknowledgement. The father represents many things: the inner critic, the audience, the mirror of society and old principles. In an attempt to emancipate themselves, the brothers get lost in the woods and in their thoughts. »It’s my business what I want to make of myself«, exclaims Franz. Why shouldn’t we live out our own fictions? Why put up these barriers? How do we get back to acting? Together with the ensemble, Leonie Böhm uses the material in the Schiller play in an attempt to catch the soul »in its most secret operations.« Real intimacy without force, your own rules, no fear. Get out of your ruts and into the moment. Very »freely« adapted from Schiller.
