Just got this a week ago and having a blast. I run 1:1 machines and having the boom controls backwards sucks. Going to do this modification thanks to your video. I don't plan on digging earth with it, just loading up old rc tires and motors into a box around the shop is fun enough for me.

That's awesome! I found it interesting they decided to do the controls like that because most other RC excavators have the controls set up correctly. Either way it's an easy fix! Have fun and thanks for watching!

Good job,i did something similar, but with mine after a while it stripped the gears,so i put worm screw servos in there instead,those things are really strong 💪 😀👍👍👍

Nice, I did think about doing that too mine also. The jib and bucket have no limit switches so that makes it a more involved installation. I figured I would run this one as is and maybe upgrade to the WPL 16800 at some point. Thanks for hanging out mate I appreciate your time!

No problem at all my friend! If your looking for and inexpensive way to try out an RC Excavator, I think this is a decent choice along with the Huina 1550. My kids and I do all sorts of scale earthmoving projects in the backyard! Thanks for hanging out mate!

hmm do you thing the tracks would have a hard time moving the machine if i added lead weights to make is closer to 5 pounds?

@@swapmeetlus4096 The drive units have clutches in them, and may struggle if you add too much weight. IIRC the stock weight is accurate for the 1/24 scale.

This model already has steel weights inside the body so it's weight is appropriate for the 1/24 scale. This is a nicely detailed RC toy that is fully functional, There are better models available if performance is important.

You certainly could, however there is no limit switches for the jib and bucket so you would have to wire in limit switches with the servos so you didn't just overdrive the servos and kill them. Some of the Huina parts are compatable with this machine, but you would have to put a ton of time in to modifying it. I decided to enjoy it the way it is an possibly upgrade to a better machine further down the road if needed.

John Deere controls are backwards from Caterpillar, don't know how that got missed in the controller. I'm new to the construction side of R/C and have one of these. Thanks for the tips and tricks:-)
