Would love to see how you did the mixing on the DX5 for steering!
@rcstories_ca11 сағат бұрын
@@danasurette Will do that in the new year. DX5 Rugged is a pain because it only has one custom mix and the steering mix is no help (as far as I have been able to work out). But one can mostly get it to work. Cheers 🍻

@ that’s what I ran into with my rugged and trail king.

@ I recently discovered a hardware mixer (Google v-wing mixer) that would make things easier. Couldn’t find one in Canada to try out, but I’ll mention them in my video.

@@rcstories_ca yea. I’ve also looked into those as well. Ended up using the hot rc joystick transmitter that has tank mixing built in

I been wanting one of these and this motor swap makes me want to get out my CC and hit the Amain website.

Also, Try calibrating your receiver AND the ESC. That would cause the separated motor startups. Theres dozens of videos of how to calibrate all your equipment here on KZbin so I'll spare you my explanation of how to do it.✌️ And if there's room... 2x Fusion 2300kv 1/10 systems would definitely be a better option! (Just an idea!)✌️

Very friendly and enjoyable video. How was the low-speed modulation?
@rcstories_ca14 сағат бұрын
Very good! Goes as slow as I want. Not über crawling speed, but it’s not doing that kind of technical terrain. I use a lot of exponential on my throttle too so it’s easy to handle one handed while filming-really wide band for low range. I was so focused on showing at least some of the top speed in the video I never thought to film the low speed. Crawling over the log was pretty slow I guess.

Why didn't you just flip the pinion gear around? Cool upgrade though!
@rcstories_ca16 сағат бұрын
Tried. That didn’t work either. The grub screw would not engage the shaft and/or the teeth would still be misaligned. I’m sure a different pinion gear would fit better but I couldn’t find anything. 2.3mm is not that common and there are no step-down adaptors from larger sizes that I have found (my old pinions were 3.125mm adapted to 2mm). I had considered filing the flat back toward the motor housing more, but that would be a last resort for me.

@@rcstories_ca Well, it was a thought. Sometimes thing are just a pain.....until you make it better. Today we had fresh powder and it was cold, so great day for something on traxx. So that's why I did. Thanks for sharing videos!

@ Yeah, you gotta try everything. I just cut that from the video because it was already a bit long. Still waiting for some new snow here. Trails are sooo icy🧊 Gonna be a brown Christmas! Enjoy the winter weather. 🍻
