I turned 51 this year and I’m just now starting this thing with hot wheels and such. Tinkering and fabricating has caught my attention. You’re demonstrations and cometary has kept me riveted. I started buying these little things and have been slowly building up the tools and equipment required. You’re channel is one of the top three I refer to. Thanks for doing it.

As a model train nut you should have left it at yellow over silver. It looked like a Western Pacific diesel locomotive paint job from the early 1960s! As for decaling you have to give clearance for the clear edge around the black on a flat surface. It is very hard to get it straight over wheel covers. You should also cut to fit each part of the decalsfor each body line separately! Do the bed then the cab. To make the decal set right before clear coating I always use Walther's Solvaset or Microscale Industries Microset. You only have to wait 15 minutes to dry. Looks like a root beer truck now! Needs a couple of big upright aluminum exhaust pipes behind each corner of the cab. Yes! She needs pipes!🔥🔥 Oh those surfboards need a custom 1/43rd scale beach pickup. Another custom build may be in order!!!🌊

Fantastic build and I give you high marks for the concept and design of the Blubbing Tuck, but I feel you need to do the top as you have done the bottom..it would flow a lot better and that seems to be the sheen and color you need for the amazing ride. Still over all amazing work per your usual Austin!

Sweet custom! I wasn't really feeling the paint job prepubescent lol, then that division helped a little bit. But then the surprise root beer reveal put a big smile on my face! 😊👍In high school I had a friend who's father had a hotrod 55 F100 that was root beer brown candy. Loved that thing...

That paint job looks really cool. The brown over the yellow created a really cool effect. It kinda makes me want to paint my real yellow 51 Ford F-1 candy rootbeer. I can't afford to repaint my whole truck but it sure looks cool in 1/64.

Pretty sweet for a truck you made out of the parts bin! I like the bronze colour on the bottom of it, the top.....not so much. It might have looked better silver over bronze, but it's finished now so whatever. Those boards you got look awesome, they would've looked so sweet in the back of the Merc woody (if they were the right scale).

Sweet color... i see shimmery sparkles... blub blub... 😃 Jimmy gets the best rides in town. There are a few ancient flat beds around our region that were last strictly used to move hay on the farm once upon a time, and no longer road worthy. every time i see them I'm thinking... ooh that would be a sick z'd rod ... repurposed to a fun toy instead of rotting away

Another great color change. That truck needed a darker color on the bottom to push the fenders into the background. Good choice. I liked the silver and orange combo but the silver made the fenders and bumper "pop" too much. You have a good eye.

just a friendly tip or two. if you use micro sol/set the decal will sit better on it. if you gloss the truck before you put the decal on (i know the colors you use are already gloss) then dull it down and re-gloss it the decal film wont be seen as much. may want to try this one out on something you dont want

There was something about this truck when it was bare and when it was yellow and silver that really made me think of ol diesel electric trains...like an old EMD F7. First I love the new direction of creating new customs this way. I love the new challenges that come with each one. Gives variety. I think what would set that truck off is if you cut the inside of the bed out and used tooth picks or something like that for a wooden bed. Especially with that color.
