I'm 61 and am a little old school but I love the result of the Cutlass. I think you've coined a new phrase " Pimp Muscle" . I see ghost flames in your future . I've rattle canned 1/25th scale cars since I was 12 can and I was "usually" happy with the results, but I can't imagine trying to do it on 1/43 and smaller. Now, due to eyesight and shaking hands I only do 1/18th and larger. I recently bought an air brush but haven't gained the courage to use it. Sucks getting old. lol I love your work and I have been able to incorporate some of your techniques in to my 1/18th scale builds and repairs. Keep up the good work and positive attitude.

Back in the day this was one of my favorite castings. Not sure why but I always like the design. The experiment worked out great. The wheels and the paint really make this stand out. This would be a great add to any collection. Great job.

My first 2 castings were this olds 442 I called it my late model. Bring a dirt track racing fan and all it and the old #5 fire truck. The red one with golf fleck not the yellow. Your experiment turned out great I really enjoyed riding along. Look up old number 5 sometime I built a live stock car in it resemblance.

When I used to do model cars, I found a great paint combination for the same affect. For example if I was going for a purple. I would base coat either black or white depending on how dark I wanted it to appear. Then I would use metal flake blue base with transparent red over that. Man it made a beautiful color. Car looks awesome btw.
@AleCatGarage5 жыл бұрын
That color goes fantastic with that body style. But the ghosting affect, really modernizes it. Another bad ass car sir.

I like that custom fella, great to see experiments knock it out of the park. I let Timerider know the sponge trick, it's an idea I've used for years as a plastic modeller and saves a lot of grief. SidewaysKing uses the same method and he is a seasoned modeller as well so must be something us old gits learnt back in the depths of time.

07:52 The first channel I saw the excellent decal/sponge interface was that of 'Sideways King 75'. It's a fantastically useful tip. The layered paint and decalling would be great for creating 'ghost flames'. As an experiment, I'd say that it was a success. It looks awesome.

13:23 PHRASING! BOOM! I can't believe you threw that one out there and no one a swing at it😁😁😁 I just couldn't let that one go without stopping dead in my tracks to take that swing! I really like how this one turned out. While you were screwing the body back on to the base I was telling to you to nor forget to paint the fire extinguisher handle and hose, and also the seat belt buckles. I guess you couldn't hear me 😁 Yeah the ghost decals under the candy works really well. I have a feeling that one more coat might have been the one to completely cover them. Obviously you have an extensive background with paints, going back way further than the several months that you've been customizing and/or restoring diecast vehicles. Ok I'm on to the next one...
