Just catching this now. Love your work! I'm sure you know but the car with the metal base is the first run police cruiser from 1973. Someone painted it black. It was originally all white with paper POLICE decals. In 1974 they lost the door lines and changed the decal to the black and yellow one. Only 73 and 74 have metal bases, red lights and opening hoods. They were switched to plastic and the dome incorporated into the windshield and made blue. Sorry if this is old news.

I have been wanting to customize some 1:32 scale cars but just can't find any really nice aftermarket wheels that are real enough looking. All I can find are too narrow. Awesome job on the paint scheme for sure.

The contrast is perfect. The color combos from the factory were not subtle. Well done. Come back to YT!

The fun quotient for diecast custom and restoration videos has really taken a hit since you've left. It's either a voice-over from smug Redline grandpas talking to us like we're 5, or completely unattainable levels of detail set to EDM that are almost boring to watch. You rode the line of humor, humility, and attainability. We need ya back, bruddah.

So, if I were to screw up the leafing, does the paint stripper take it off so I can try again?

Hello @diecastresurrection, I know this video is a year old but I had a few questions. The UVLS seems to have done an amazing job on the body - did you continue to use it because I think on your channel you might still use 2K clears? I also noted you kind of free-handed the ratio, though the data sheet suggested a 20-25% reduction but I think it worked out better since we're painting smaller items? Do you know what your ratio might be closer to? Is it closer to 1:1 or still about 60 clear:40 reducer. The Data sheet also suggest letting it sit with the reducer for about 15 minutes but curious if you sprayed right after your own ratio mix since it seems it reduced the viscosity entirely? Did you let it sit for 15 minutes between coats? I do 1:24 scale but am looking to replace 2k and this looks like it came out great. Additionally, it seems that the high gloss uvls can also work great on clear parts? Future floor polish is no more so I was also looking to find a replacement for that as well. Have you continued to use the high gloss UVLS from createx?

So, I was all set to join the Patreon, but then realized that the last post was 18 +/- months ago, and all of the socials and Patreon were gone. So I weirdly check back every so often to see if anything pops up. Nuthin' so far. This is what my life is now.

One of my favorite castings. Those things were cool. A full motorhome with the engine and transmission, an Olds 455 mated to a 3 speed TH425 A/T and as far as I know, the engine cradle were all direct fit from the Olds Toronado, which meant front wheel drive, which in turn meant no driveshaft running the length of the truck, which in turn meant the body could be lower, which in turn meant a spacious interior with lots of headroom, which also in turn meant you had storage spaces that were taller, which again and in final turn meant more interior room. Yeah... all that. Plus they just looked cool as hell! I remember having this casting in the orange Palm Beach livery when I was a kid in '77, '78-ish, and seeing one restored to all of its original glory brought it all back!
