The fine tip Gundam marker is meant for coloring in panel lines, so it's a dark grey that goes on thin allowing you to treat it like a wash.

Looks awesome! Testors paints! I never imagined it could look that good with testors! I now wonder if it were polished how good it would've been! That cold be a vidio in it's own, polish a strip of metal, mask it, and then paint with multiple types of paint and look or compare! Either way great job brother!

I use those Gundam Markers, and like them. Gundam Mech kits are usually moulded in colour, and don't need a lot of painting, so they recommend using the paint markers for detail areas. I hate the bright colours of Mech kits, and have always painted them like tanks - mute colours, rust, oil streaks, etc, but those markers are great for other things, and, like you, I love the logo on the pack. A set of fine and extra fine drawing pens is worth having, too - they are great for panel lines and vents, etc., and the ink is permanent.

You can buy testors paint in large bottles already airbrush ready. I did. I also purchased an assortment of Wicked paint colors. Then I have an assortment of redline shop spectraflame paint and enamels. I worked on several boss mustangs and custom mustangs, but I think I like the mustang mach 1 the best. I also got around to working on my 1968 redline custom corvette. Getting ready to do the polishing. I try to do 2 cars a week, but drilling the posts is still a pain in the nuts. At least with a 3/64 drill bit, it doesn't eat as much of the sides away. Saw a lot of restored hot wheels on Ebay, they run around $30-200. After going thru all the work, is it really going to be worth it? People want cars restored but don't realize that there are plenty available on Ebay, they're expensive, and they don't seem to be selling.

Hi everyone, I remember when these little Testors paint bottles were 10 cents each. As far as the wheels, isn't there something to soak chromed (aluminized) plastic parts in to remove all the "chrome"? That way painting a wheel gun-metal or some other color would be much easier. I did like the way you thinned & filtered that metallic paint. It looks great. P.S. Those marker tips are usually nylon, have you tried sharpening them with a sharp blade, perhaps a razor blade?

if you electro plated those rims, hte markers would do a great job

Hello! I really enjoy your work man, keep it up! I am planing to restore a 1970´s Tonka rescue ambulance, the one that looks like a Dodge van. I would like to ask you if you know some tricks for it. Dang, that casting was rough as a cob. Even thinned, the Testors seems to spray a bit thicker - like on the vents at the base of the windshield, where you lose quite a bit of detail. I'm pins and needles waiting for your quad cab conversion, because there's another conversion I'm dying (pun intended) for you to do - one especially for Halloween. Could you do a Miller Meteor hearse conversion to a '58 Plymouth Fury???? Yes, "kit-bashing" Christine into a hearse! Also 3:51 ..."and those things have been in all kinds of orifices" O_o
