Gendry isn't Cersei's son, she said the baby's body was taken from her which means she saw him die. He's just Robert's bastard - but that in itself is very relevant.
@havok62802 сағат бұрын
I understand that the showrunners wanted to humanize Cersei by giving her a stillborn son. But that change seems to confuse most reactors. Gendry said his mother died. And Ned says he is Robert's bastard. If he was Cersei's son, he wouldn't be a bastard.

It's one of the poorer early season additions imo.

@@scarlettmi a lot of reactors make that assumption, especially because Gendry says his mother had blonde hair, though there is a different reason why they had him say that
@jawbone783 минут бұрын
@@scarlettmi it's not a bizarre leap in logic, it's a natural inference. They brought up a black-haired baby with a blonde mother, and then they presented a black-haired young man with a blonde mother. It's been a long time, but when I first saw this episode I hadn't read the book yet, and I'm pretty sure that was my first thought as well.

You’ll have to ignore the stillborn baby plot point, that was added by the show for no real reason. Gendry isn’t Cersei’s child.
@jawbone782 минут бұрын
Not no real reason - it's another data point that supports the revelation that occurs in a couple of episodes from here. It wasn't strictly necessary, but that was the reason.

Ariana and Maple have always had an intense curiosity towards people intentions. This show shows morale quandary. Dilemmas and conundrums. Up the wazoo. It's why the tea is so 🔥. When the writer talks about his books. He speaks of the historical inspirations throughout history. Royalty, famous books or poets, authors, historians, and his favorite, Tolkien. Remember, it is just a show. A really really good show. I think seeing the first season is a great eye opener. Winter is coming, you sweet sumer children.

Important context: Theon was taken as a ward when he was a child by the Starks after his fathers rebellion/war for independence failed. Well, officially as a ward. In practice the losers of wars in Westeros often give up children as wards so they act as de facto hostages and prevent the fathers from leading wars again. Essentially, Theon grew up with the Stark children, but if his father had decided to rebel against the king again, it would have not been an unusual affair if Ned had to kill him because of that.

while her brother may be a prick that is tech his army and he is tech entitled to the throne seeing as he is the actual rightful heir
@elkins440643 минут бұрын
It's a matter of assumptions. He thinks it's his army because he believes that the deal was a mercantile exchange: his sister in exchange for an army. There's no evidence that Drogo or his men understood the deal in the same way, though, and therein lies the problem. Similarly, he thinks that the throne is his because he believes that the operative system under which everyone functions is "genetic legitimate male heir of last king = True King Whom Nobody Must Question." History -- history of both our own world and this one -- shows, however, that this isn't really the operative system under which reality works: thrones can be won by conquest, and dynasties can change. And again, therein lies the problem.

Honor is something on the northerners, and for her, Ned having a son out of marriage is something totally unconceivable. By his honor, he will say nothing, except that Jon is blood of his blood, and he will take care of him whatever it takes. And that's all that I will write here, for now. About Sansa... The arc of her character is only at the beggining, and that's all that I will write here, for now. Respect for those beautiful ladies that are watching this show for the first time, please.
