In the season 2 finale, I was literally standing up, cheering for Kendall. And then he proceeds to fumble everything so badly 🤦🏽♂️
@MattMajcan Жыл бұрын
Kendalls problem is exactly what Logan said. It's sanctimonious bullshit.. Kendall is good at playing the game and he's a killer at times but he also has a concience and some integrity that his father doesnt.. but he ends up taking it way too far to the point of basically virtue signaling, and he loses focus. That phone call with naomi where she's telling him that hes unironically the best man in the world.. just gross. Logan is right, Kendall's move had nothing to do with making the company better or helping the victims, or justice, or whatever, it was just to get back at his dad and save his own ass and try to get power. If he could cut the crap and stop acting like he's saving the world and realize that he's just a rich man playing the game to get richer, it would probably go so much better for him.
@schmuck.on.wheels Жыл бұрын
Yeah Kendall has enough conscience and integrity to recognize the bad shit as being bad and want to veer away from it, but his main motivation for doing so is wanting to feel like a good person and the fact that it's a good move. But a good person wouldn't exploit women getting abused as an opportunity to grab power, so he convinces himself he's just doing this for the good, morally pure reasons, and looks to others to affirm and validate that. And yeah I think that inner tension of lying to himself like that is a root of a lot of his issues.

Kendall's flaw (well, one of them anyway) is he is damn needy and addicted to praise and validation from other people. Neither Roman nor Shiv remotely care about what anybody (bar daddy) think of them, but Kendall needs everyone to tell him what a good boy he is. It's especially obvious here how he basically treats his professional employees like they are some kind of bizarre harem who need to flatter him.

As a Kendall lover this season was rough lmfao. Also fun fact, male razors work pretty well for pubic hair. I feel like that's what Rava was insinuating since she had no issues telling him that she was dating in the past.

I think this was necessary however for the seasons structure and everything after Retired Janitors or Idaho (such and underrated ep) is top tier. This season 3 premiere episode came 2 years after the season 2 finale because of the pandemic. Production really had to mobilize and follow all COVID measures to get all the locations and film everyone with cast/crew. You can argue "The Crown" had any chance of winning Best Drama Series Emmy or any nominees had a chance was due to Succession taking a year off.

i love this show but to me, this transition between the season 2 finale and the early parts of season 3 is by far the weakest chunk of the show, i think it could’ve been handled better especially in regards to Kendall at the end of S2 hes a stone cold killer but now hes completely reverted back to S1 ken??? that always felt jarring to me, like an artificial nerf of a character

@Melodicroger Жыл бұрын
That’s an interest take. I think if you’re watching it as Kendall developing into “a killer” in the same vein Logan, it may be jarring. But if you look at the show as a tragedy, Kendall’s fragility and need for validation has always been core of his character. He’s always nerfed himself.
@shahriachowdhury9552 Жыл бұрын
