Hi Mark - really enjoyed this video and the interview with Diego! Two great guys! I thought of you a couple of weeks ago whilst I was in Munchen with my family (my 14 year old son is enjoying learning German at school so we thought we'd take a trip). Visited Pfeifen Huber of course and I stocked up there. Greatly enjoying PH's own blend called 'Golden Flake' which is Herr Mayer's current favourite. I watched your old video on Vauen pipes before purchasing one and also bought a White Elephant pipe which is also excellent. Ah long time no see Mark, always a pleasure - it sounds like a very interesting blend, many people (I include myself) enjoy the bolder stuff. I think it's a fun idea that Diego basically walked into a bakery and took all of his favourite stuff (pumpernickel, strüdel, ptretzelbröt etc,) and create a deilicious, but pricy, frankenbröt of a tobacco. Not sure if the baking analogy works, but you know what I mean... hm, coffee sounds like a plan. After watching the "tobacco porn" section, I would be very tempted to try pressing this into a plug, but I'm sure it smokes very finely as it is.

Great video, as always, professor! I am however a bit confounded about the Samuel Gawith blends. On Kohlhase & Kopp's website, the blends are still available, and it looks like they have some kind of distribution rights in Europe. And, according to some discussions on pipe forums, they seem to be available in some parts of Germany again (the news popped up about 11 days ago). Either way, hope they become available again. And, who knows, perhaps the UK will return at least to the EEA, if not in the EU, and then a lot of things might be sorted out a lot easier. Wishing you the very best!

Hi Mark and Diego: thanks for the fascinating video, being rather nic sensitive myself I will probably not try Diego's blend although it sounds fascinating. Mark you may recall when I shippe a sample of Bold Kentucky to Matches 860 and warned him of the strength, he scoffed at my warning but later said the Bold Kentucky that Doug sent me "put me on my knees", John was quite nicotine resistant so do not feel bad about being lightheaded with that one. LOL

Great video Mark, you could clearly see and hear the fun being had by the two of you...well maybe until you had to rub out all that tobacco. Sounds like a very rich blend and I wonder being a cigar and Kentucky fan myself if the typ stronger cigar notes make us gravitate more to burley and Kentucky. Your mixing at the end of the video raises an interesting question which comes up at our pipe club occasionally, when you cellar a mixture in a jar as you are doing here, is it important to leave some looseness in the jar so the tobacco has some air around it for the aging process to be maximized or can one press it tight with the same result? I would be interested in both your opinion and Diego's.

Hi Mark, I am mostly Latakia smoker but bored of it I thought I'd give Diego's mix a try after checking out your video. It would help if you write out the description of the "ingredients" tobaccos of Diego's mixture since since I saw your video, I have to keep coming back to it in order to listen to all the tobacco's involved in the mix. It's quite a challenge to get all of them since none is available in Switzerland and one has to order them in Germany which doesn't ship them to CH. I even checked your video whilst in Copenhaguen remembering that you mentioned B.S. (Black Sugar) was only available there and indeed, they had it but none of the other stuff. Now I am back to your video to check the other tobaccos in the mix to order them in Germany hoping I don't miss out on one. Love your videos (thought the one at 200km/h in a Porsche was hilarious). Keep them coming. Alles gute, Pablo. P.s: In case it would be worth an interview there is a pipe maker by the name Henrik Kroll (pfeifen-kroll.de) who does some wonderful hand made unicat pipes near you I believe.
