Spaniard here, from Segovia to be more precise. I support Atlético since 1994 and I can tell you Simeone is the best thing that happened to us ever. He was an amazing Atlético player but he is a better coach. In fact he is the best coach one can imagine: he knows what Atlético is and what Atlético means.

I was an Arsenal fan since 03~04 season. I became a fan of Arsenal because of its way of playing soccer during the 03-04 unbeaten run. However, by 13~14 season, I thought Arsenal had to change its ways to get back to winning. Even if it may seem boring, I began to prioritize winning over beautiful, attacking soccer. There were 2 head coaches I wanted to replace Wenger. Klopp & Simeone. Sadly, Klopp was hired by Liverpool and Simeone himself became Atletico Madrid since then. Despite the “rich” clubs like Real and Barcelona spend tremendous amounts of money in bringing great players, Atletico Madrid and Simeone managed to compete at a very high level since Simeone took charge. I believe Simeone is the Alex Ferguson of Atletico Madrid. He really is. I have huge respect toward him.
